No, JIPMER Puducherry admit candidates to its MBBS programme based on merit in NEET only. There is no other provision for selection. National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) is conducted once in a year in offline or paper-pencil based test (PBT) mode. The national-level exam is conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA). Aspirants can visit its official website to register and apply. In addition to this, candidates must secure a minimum aggregate of 50% in Class 12.  

For admission to JIPMER BSc in Nursing course, aspirants must be Class 12 pass with Physics, Chemistry, Biology/ Botany & Zoology, and English as one of the subjects. The qualifying exam should have been passed with at least 50% aggregate (40% aggregate for SC/ST/OBC; 45% aggregate for PwD category candidates). Moreover, the applicants age at the time of admission should be at least 17 years, or candidate must turn 17 on or before December 31 of the year of admission. There is not upper age limit.

 The selection to the course is done on the basis of how the candidates perform for the entrance exam set by the college. JIPMER college offers M.Sc in Nursing and Allied Medical Sciences. For admission to MD at JIPMER, candidate should have a valid MBBS degree recognised by the Medical Council of India/Dental Council of India with at least 55% aggregate for General and OBC category candidates and at least 50% aggregate for case SC/ST category candidates. Candidate must hold the degree and mark sheets as well during the form filling and admission confirmation.

Overall six months time is sufficent for INI CET preparation. This includes 4 month in depth study and 2-month for revision work. The moment a candidate plan to appear for the INI CET, first and formost things he/she should do is to draw a study plan. Focus on those subjects where you are strong in terms of concept. Don't spend too musch time initially on subjects where you are weak. This will demotivate you and affect your preparation. Keep this in mind that concept is key. High yielding topics must be prepared properly to score good marks in INI CET exam.

The NEET application form 2025 had to be filled in online mode only. However, there is an exception for the applicants residing in the Kashmir valley or Leh. The NEET 2025 application fee had to be paid using a credit card/debit card, net banking, Paytm or UPI. If the issue persists further, then they have to visit any of the Common Service Centres (CSC).

A candidate must possess MBBS degree for MD/MS/DM-6yrs/MCH-6yrs and BDS degree for MDS courses of a University recognised by the National Medical Commission/Medical Council of India as notified by Govt. of India and Dental Council of India respectively and must have completed the required period of 12 months compulsory rotating Internship/Practical training in certain period of time. They must have scored the minimum marks in MBBS/BDS or equivalent examination. Minimum marks for candidates belonging to the SC/ST categories is 50% while for all other categories including OBC/EWS Category, the minimum mark is 55% in aggregate.

JIPMER Puducherry admit candidates to its BSc courses on the basis of merit in the NEET exam. Some of the seats are reserved for the students who are residents of Pondicherry. However, the remaining seats are open for admission to candidates across the country. Hence, you can get admission even if you are not from Pondicherry.
