My experience as a first-year Kalindi College student.

Placements: There are various kinds of roles offered in my course, which is Political Science Honors. We can obviously get into the law programme. There are jobs for research analysts, geopolitical affairs analysts, as well as corporate jobs. People who think there isn't any career in this department, I feel, are wrong.

Infrastructure: We are not provided with a hostel, although we do have all the other facilities like Wi-Fi, labs, classrooms, library, canteen, help desks, etc. But I'll be honest here. The Wi-Fi does not work. Our own data network does not work. The availability and quality of facilities are average.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is also good. They give real-life examples. It helps students understand the concept better. That makes a whole difference. As I'm new to the college, I don't really know how exams are conducted.

Other: I chose this course because I have an immense love and respect for this subject. The core of this subject is the basic relationship between humans. That makes it all the more interesting. I wish the food quality were better and for a better network connection.

My experience at Kalindi College has been quite good overall. I like the academics and teachers.

Placements: I think placements for Political Science are relatively limited compared to professional courses. I do not have an exact percentage of students. I do not have enough information to give an exact list of companies recruiting specifically from Political Science.

Infrastructure: The college has a good and student-friendly infrastructure. The classrooms, library, computer facilities, and other academic spaces are useful for regular studies. The campus also has facilities for sports and extracurricular activities. But currently, there is no hostel. The quality of food in the canteen is okay.

Faculty: In my college, teachers are helpful. They are qualified and knowledgeable. Their teaching quality is good. Political Science is relevant. It gives students a good understanding of political theories. It also covers Indian politics, international relations, & contemporary issues.

Other: I chose Political Science because I have always been interested in understanding politics. I am also interested in society, government, & current affairs. One of the best things about the course is that it improves our understanding of real-world political and social issues. I feel that the college could improve course-specific internships. Placements and career guidance for Political Science students could also be improved.

Conditions should improve.

Placements: I basically have no idea about this, as in our course, there are no placements as such. As far as I know, there is no good placement structure for other courses like B.Com, Economics Honors, etc., either. The college needs to work on building its reputation so that companies are attracted.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure is very pathetic, which disappoints every student coming here. Talking about toilets, they are of no use. They are not properly constructed and are not cleaned properly as well. The hostel has been getting ready for the past many years, but it is not inaugurated yet. The auditorium's condition has fortunately changed this year.

Faculty: For Political Science, the faculty is really nice. Classes happen mostly according to schedule, depending on the professors too. DU's curriculum is excellent, but it is effective only if taught properly. Exams are predictable. If someone analyses PYQs and prepares accordingly, they are more likely to score well.

Other: I want to continue in humanities, and I find Political Science interesting. That's why I chose this course. I want the classrooms to be well-equipped with smart boards and mic facilities, along with ACs. Talking about fests and all, the same sort of stalls and programmes are quite evident.

Overall, a decent college.

Placements: 1 to 1.25% of students get placements in my course. The highest package is 7 LPA. The lowest is 2 LPA. 20% to 30% of students get internships in my course. Roles offered include Civil Servants, Assistant Professors, Lecturers, & Researchers.

Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure of my department are good and decent. The library and classrooms are also nice. The mess and canteen food are good enough. The campus is overall pretty. It has lots of greenery with beautiful plants and trees.

Faculty: Professors in the Political Science department are really helpful. They are encouraging. They are good at teaching. They are friendly with students. The course curriculum is also relevant. The semester exams are moderate to tough. The passing percentage is 40%.

Decent college with good faculty but bad infrastructure.

Placements: Placements really depend on person-to-person here. The college does have a placement cell and everything, but it is not that active. So, if you are applying to other opportunities outside the college and taking up initiatives on your own, then you can get a decent placement.

Infrastructure: In terms of infrastructure, we can improve a lot. From classrooms to playgrounds, there are a lot of sports facilities, but they are not have proper facilities. We do have plenty of space, but we just have to properly put our resources in place. Also, the Wi-Fi does not work properly sometimes.

Faculty: Teachers are qualified enough. They are pretty helpful. Apart from just covering the syllabus, sometimes the assignments can be a lot, but they are very much aligned with the course. So, you will get to learn at the end of it. Semester exams are not that tough either if you have studied throughout.

Other: I personally chose this course because of the market demand. In comparison to Kalindi, the college's faculty for Political Science (Hons) is good, based on the feedback that I have from other colleges.

Overall, college provides decent academic environment and supportive faculty.

Placements: Placement opportunities are available. Although courses are more academically oriented towards areas such as civil services, research, public policy, law, journalism, social development and higher education. A moderate percentage of students who are active in placement process are able to secure jobs.

Infrastructure: The college has average infrastructure with basic facilities such as libraries, laboratories, classrooms space available for students. The facilities are functional and sufficient for day-to-day activities. Campus provide decent environment. Hostel facilities are not provided currently.

Faculty: Faculty members are supportive and approachable with teachers generally encouraging students to participate in activities. The curriculum is well structured and covers important concepts giving students good understanding of subjects. Exams are conducted as per the pattern of University of Delhi with a mix of internal assignments and end semester exams.

Good washrooms are the first requirement.

Placements: Not having enough information about the placed students. Our college doesn't provide placements to students with no famous companies. There is no information regarding the placements and internships. The top role in my course is that of teaching.

Infrastructure: The facilities in the college are not good. We do not have proper washrooms and they are not properly cleaned. Labs are not in that good a condition. The food in the canteen is not that good. A hostel is available, but no students have been placed there. No Wi-Fi is available.

Faculty: The teachers provide good education and knowledge. Sometimes they are not interested in teaching. Our semester exams are not that difficult. The passing percentage is 60 percent for the students. Sometimes teachers are helpful and sometimes not enough.

Best college for academics.

Placements: Placements are very rare, at least in my course. Overall it's below average. Not aware of the highest and the lowest packages. We have a placement cell, but I am not aware of their workings. To the best of my knowledge, I don't know what packages they have got in Political Science.

Infrastructure: In the Political Science department rooms are okay, basic needs for students are fulfilled in the classroom. Wi-Fi service is quite disappointing elsewhere. We have a very rich library with all the useful books provided and approximately 10 newspapers coming daily.

Faculty: Faculty is very qualified all have studied at JNU. They help with all the problems and academic decision-making. Teaching quality is excellent five out of five. Semester exams are not difficult if you have consistency throughout the semester, engaging in more work is possible.

Register and Apply
Interested candidates have to register online with required information. Non-refundable online registration fee is a mandate without which candidate’s application would not be considered for further processing. Candidate has to select preferred course at the time of registration, there is no limit on the maximum number of courses in which the candidate can apply and there is no additional fee for applying in multiple courses.
