KIIT Hosts AIU-Sponsored Faculty Development Program on Renewable Energy and Smart Grid: Recent Trends and Applications

May 19, 2025: The School of Electrical Engineering at KIIT-DU organized a five-day hybrid Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Renewable Energy and Smart Grid: Recent Trends and Applications” from May 5 – 9, 2025. The FDP was sponsored by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) under the Academic and Administrative Development Centre (AADC).

The Chief Guest, Shri Ashok Kumar Tripathy, Former Director General, CPRI, Bangalore, delivered an inspiring keynote address, emphasizing the importance of innovation in renewable energy and the integration of smart grid technologies to meet future energy demands.

Earlier, Prof. Ranjeeta Patel, Dean of the School, welcomed the participants and thanked AIU and KIIT for their support. She highlighted the wide participation of around 70 delegates from across India and abroad. The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Alivarani Mohapatra, Associate Professor.

KIIT Organises 3rd IEEE International Conference on ‘Industrial Electronics: Developments & Applications’

May 8, 2025: The 3rd IEEE International Conference on “Industrial Electronics: Developments & Applications” (IEEE ICIDeA 2025) was organised by the KIIT School of Engineering. The two-day conference was inaugurated by Prof. Milos Manic, IEEE IES President, IEEE Fellow, and Professor at Virginia Commonwealth University, in the presence of Prof. Simon Lambert, Deputy Director for Electrification, Newcastle University, UK; Shri H.K. Ratha, Former Director, ITR Chandipur, and Advisor, IEEE Bhubaneswar Section; Prof. Anurag Sharma, Newcastle University, Singapore, Technical Program Chair, ICIDeA 2025; Prof. Ranjeeta Patel, General Co-Chair, ICIDeA 2025; and Prof. Chitralekha Jena, Organizing Chair, IEEE ICIDeA 2025.

Over the two days, the conference explored some of the most pressing developments and applications in the field of industrial electronics. In total, more than 600 papers were submitted, out of which 111 papers were presented across 24 technical sessions, led by 48 distinguished session chairs from renowned institutions. The event also featured seven keynote sessions delivered by globally recognized experts.

The conference was successfully organized by Dr. Chitralekha Jena, Dr. Rudra Narayan Dash, and Dr. Pradeep Kumar Sahu as the Organizing Chairs.

Really good infrastructure with best placements opportunities.

Placements: Our college offers almost 100% placements guarantee and almost 90% of students got placed in our college, The highest salary package offered is 63 LPA. The average salary package offered is 6 LPA and the lowest package offered is 4.5 LPA. About 90% of students got apprenticeships in major companies like JSW, Tata Power, IBM, etc. Top roles offered in my course are junior electrical engineer, maintenance engineer, etc.

Placements: 80-90 percent of students were placed in our course. The highest package offered in our course was 30 lacs per annum. The average package in our course was about 8-10 LPA. Top recruiting companies that visited our college were Surya, V-Guard, Havells, etc.
