B.A. in Food Technology and Political Science - Batch of 2025

I’m quite satisfied with my college because of the staff, infrastructure, and facilities.
Placements: As of now, I am in my first year, but from what I have heard from my seniors, companies do come to the college for placements. Based on performance, they hire students. It is quite beneficial. I am not fully aware of the various roles offered by the college, but the seminars that were held were very informative. Companies like Byju’s have come to the college.
Infrastructure: Although I am a day scholar, I have little idea about the hostel, but the mess and canteen are quite good and affordable. Sports facilities are also available. The infrastructure is quite good. The buildings are good. The classrooms have smart boards, Wi-Fi is available throughout the college, and the library is accessible and first-class.
Faculty: The course is very relevant. It helps us gain knowledge about the science behind food and various processes, and we know it is an industrially growing field. The semester exams are not that difficult. They are manageable with good-quality questions. Teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable.

My college life is wonderful and peaceful as I connect with the college’s nature.
Placements: As for now, I don't know much about placements in my college, Lakshmibai, University of Delhi. But as for my minor subject, Food Technology, one day a senior visited us. She told us that the industry of Food Technology is a growing industry, with stipends starting from 15 to 20,000.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel directly provided by LBC. For the infrastructure, they have built a new building, which is good, and for now they are working on a new theater building. But for the old buildings, improvements are required. Basic necessities are being provided.
Faculty: As far as I had experience with the faculty I have come across, they all have a cooperative nature. As for the curriculum, some subjects are practical in nature and help us to get real-life experience. Exam levels are easy to medium, and the passing percentage is 40 percent.
Other: My college experience is great in Delhi University.

Dissatisfied due to lack of basic facilities and poor crowd interaction .
Placements: My senior batch did not get any placement from college but for the current batch, there are internships provided in semester 3 and semester 5 students in place of SEC subject. Placement is still not promised but professors do help with internships. To my knowledge, no one has been placed.
Infrastructure: The college lacks basic facilities like hygienic washrooms, and water for drinking or in washrooms. The canteen keeps on changing but it still wasn't edible till past one week. This new canteen seems to be nice but let's see for how long. Also, there are never any bandages or even sanitary pads (it's a women's college).
Faculty: The food technology department has the best-qualified professors with deep knowledge who make you participate in competitions and seminars to give real-life experience. But the political Science department is least interested as the no. of students are so much.
Other: I opted for this college only for food technology as it's an interesting field with high demand and it helps you if you want to start a business as well. Food is always in demand. It would be better if they gave us food as major even if the strength was less.

Lakshmibai College offers good infrastructure.
Placements: The placement percentage of students varies across their capabilities. I don't know about recruiting companies, but some really good hospitals and companies in the food industry recruit students through professors' contacts. Some top roles offered in our course are food scientist, food analyst, food nutritionist, etc. As I am doing a major in food tech, so I know about these food related jobs. The highest salary offered would be Rs. 30,000 per month. The lowest salary offered is Rs. 15,000 per month.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure provided for the course are good. All the necessary facilities are provided. Study room and library are well-equipped with Wi-Fi connections, although Wi-Fi connection does not reach some classrooms. Library is huge and contains all the study materials based on all courses provided by the college.
Faculty: Teachers are nice, qualified, and pretty knowledgeable for the course. Professors help students with everything according to their needs. The course curriculum is relevant, and the college provides some courses from organizations like NFTM, making students industry-ready. Difficulty of semesters varies accordingly. Pass percentage is atleast 33%.
Other: I chose this course because I was always interested in food technology as a subject course, and political Science is also a good subject that complements the major subject which is food tech. I would wish that the Wi-Fi connection would reach to all the classrooms of the college, and some more exposure should be provided in this course. Everything from events to extracurricular activities is great in our college.

My experience at Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi.
Placements: I am currently pursuing this course. So I do not have complete information about final placements. Seniors have informed that placement opportunities are average. The placement cell is supportive and conducts training sessions for interviews and self-development.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure of the college is decent. Classrooms are spacious and well-maintained. In total, there are 4 small buildings. The library has useful academic books and study materials. Wi-Fi is available on campus. Overall, the environment is suitable for learning.
Faculty: Faculty members are helpful and well-qualified. They explain topics clearly. They are approachable in case of doubts. The course curriculum is relevant and includes both theory and practical subjects. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty. Regular study is enough to score well in exams.
