The admission cycle starts for PhD admission between October and November. Find below the steps to get admission to PhD programme:
Step 1: LPU PhD Application Process 2026
LPU PhD admission to all the above-mentioned specialisations is done through online mode. Candidates, fulfilling the eligibility criteria, need to apply online through the admission portal of the university. The exam fee for LPUNEST (soft copy of LPUNEST KIT) is INR 1,000 for males and INR 500 for females. The printed LPUNEST Kit is INR 1,500 for boys and INR 1,000 for girls. Check below the steps to apply for LPU admission:
Step 1.1: Visit the official website of LPU, https://www.lpu.in/, and click on the ' Apply Now' tab at the top of the web page.
Step 1.2: Register on the official admission portal of LPU i.e. LPUADMIT (admission.lpu.in) with basic details such as name, email-id, mobile no., state, gender and password). The email id used during registration will act as the username for the portal and the password needs to be set by the candidate while registering. Candidates can continue to apply for LPUNEST (for scholarship purposes).
Step 1.3: Upload the requisite documents.
Step 1.4: Pay the application fee and hit the submit button to complete the application process.

- Recent photograph
- Mark sheet and passing certificates of Class 10, Class 12 and graduation
- Qualifying exam certificate/ mark sheet
- Address proof
Step 2: Slot Booking
This step is applicable only to the candidates wishing to appear for LPU NEST PhD. In LPUNEST slot booking 2024, candidates need to select an exam date and a shift for appearing in the exam. There are two ways to book the slot that are slot booking by the candidate and slot booking by the authorities of Lovely Professional University.
Step 3: Selection
LPU selects candidates for PhD programme based on LPUNEST PhD score. The university will also consider the academic performance of the candidates for final selection. Below is the weightage of selection parameter for PhD:

Satisfactory college with great placements.
Placements: Lovely Professional University has a good placement rate, with about 85% of students placed in my course last year. The highest package was 45 LPA, the lowest was 4 LPA, and the average was 6 LPA. Top recruiting companies are Sun Pharma, Zydus, Dr. Reddy, etc. Also, students can do internships in companies like Sun Pharma and Dr. Reddy.
Infrastructure: Lovely Professional University provides good facilities for the students, including good classrooms, the best library, and well-equipped labs with necessary equipment. Also, the hostel is quite satisfying with good food in the mess, and there is a dedicated hospital for students. The facility for sports given here is unmatched; every type of sport is available, including an Olympic-size swimming pool.
Faculty: The teachers are well-qualified and quite helpful too, but students have to study by themselves to score well in the examination. The semester exams are not very difficult, and the passing criteria are 35%. This course is relevant as it gives you exposure to the pharmaceutical industry.
Other: I chose this course because I was very much interested in medicine and its study; also, it has good scope in the future. One thing I want to improve about this course is there should be a recorded lecture option so that every student can revise their classes after returning home.

Q: Can I apply for LPU PhD in offline mode?

Candidates can apply offline for PhD course as soon as they recieve the LPUNEST Kit. The application form can be submitted by one of the following methods:
1. Manual Application: Fill the full application form (OMR sheet) after reading all the instructions as specified under the head “Instructions for filling Application Form (OMR sheet)” and send it to the university in the self-addressed envelope on the following Address: Block 30, Room No 102, Lovely Professional University, Jalandhar Delhi, GT Road, Phagwara, Punjab, India – 144411
2. Semi-Offline Application: In case applicant is unable to send the hard copy of application form (OMR Sheet), then applicant may scratch the Unique OMR code available on application form (OMR Sheet) and follow the below mentioned steps:
- Sign up on LPU ADMIT portal
- When prompted for payment, choose the option of Unique OMR Code (given on OMR Sheet)and fill the same.
