B.Tech. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2022

MIMIT is the best college and affordable for middle-class students.
Placements: 60-80% of students got placed our course. The highest package offered is 8 Lacs per annum, the lowest package is 2 Lacs per annum, and the average package is 5 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies for our course are GNA Gears etc. 50% of students got internships in designing, production, maintenance etc.
Infrastructure: The college has Wi-Fi, labs, and world-class facilities. Smart classrooms are available. We study projects. A central library and different labs with various machines are available. AutoCAD is available. The hostel is beautiful, and the quality of food available in the mess is very good, like home. All sports games are available, indoor and outdoor.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Their method of teaching is good. All the teachers are well-qualified. This course curriculum is relevant. It makes the students industry-ready. Semester exams are not much difficult. The pass percentage is 50%.
Other: Everything is the best here. I love engineering. They should explain more about designing tools. Talent search event, Youth festival, etc., are conducted. The campus crowd and connectivity are good. Everything is the best.

I am dissatisfied with placement records and faculty members.
Placements: Our college has very poor placement records, and top recruiting companies do not visit our college. It is an autonomous college, so help is provided by the government to increase their placement records. After completing this course, no industry showed interest in hiring freshers without having any extra skills. It is quite impossible to survive in the market.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not good, and it is below-average. Medical, canteen and sports facilities are good. The library does not have sufficient books to fulfil the requirements of all the students, and students have to spend a lot on their study materials which is one of the expensive things for students.
Faculty: The course curriculum does not make students ready for industry. All the teachers here are not at a level of qualified, which decreases the potential of students. All of them don't teach to fulfil the eligibility criteria for providing the best lectures and practical knowledge for students to survive in the upcoming markets. Companies did not visit our college for students, so they don't know how to work under such an environment. We are facing many problems after completion of the degree.
Other: Improvement is needed to make the course curriculum according to the market, and many companies should be invited during the placements session. Any leadership quality is not developed under this course.

Review of Malout Institute of Management and Information Technology.
Placements: Around 35-40% of the students got placed from college. The highest salary package offered was 3 LPA. I was a mechanical student. Many companies, like Cyber Hi-Teach, Arihant, Belento metre, etc., visited the campus for recruitment. But the salary packages offered were very low. Therefore students were not interested in such placements.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college was very good. Wi-Fi facilities were also provided in the college and hostel. The mess was comparatively good. There were well furnished-rooms for boys and girls. The hostel also provided daily newspaper and various magazines to make students aware of the daily happenings of the world. This college also provided common room. Sports campus was available. MIMIT raised its NCC unit in August 2013. Institute also provided bus facilities to the students for the placement, industrial visit and sports.
Faculty: All the faculty members in our college were helpful and well educated. Our college provided many courses like MBA, B.Tech and UGC.

Absolutely satisfied with college and average placements.
Placements: We will be facing placement interviews after 2 years but I can tell you guys about my seniors. Many of them got placed in Chandigarh based industries at average packages of 2-3 Lacs. Around 60-65% of students are placed. There is a TPO cell and they put a lot of efforts to place students.
Infrastructure: Everything is available here as it is a government approved college. The library is completely digital, all kind of medical facilities are available here, huge sports grounds are available in the campus. The classrooms are well maintained and furnished. Labs have all the necessary devices. Hostel is average and mess food is satisfactory.
Faculty: The teachers are well qualified and experienced. Their teaching quality is good. Projector presentations are being used as teaching methods. Some of the teachers are very rude. Student to faculty ratio is 50:1. Yes we got industry exposure. Course curriculum is same in all the college over Punjab.

Nice infrastructure and facilities.
Placements: The placements of the college are average, and around 50% of the students got placed last year. The interviews are still going on this year. The average package offered is 2-3 lacs per annum. There is a very efficient TPO cell. Placements in mechanical engineering are tough, and it is based on your efforts only.
Infrastructure: High-speed Wi-Fi is available. Labs and classrooms are well-furnished and properly ventilated. Labs are equipped with all kinds of devices and equipment. Medical facilities are available in the campus, and the sports grounds are huge. The classrooms are very good. Food available in the mess is not that good, and rooms are average.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified, and all of them have doctorate degrees. They are very helpful and supportive. All the teachers are knowledgeable, and their teaching methods are very good. Faculty to student ratio is 1:100-110 approximately. We got internships in some industries, and the course curriculum is AICTE approved.

I suggest you to choose some other streams like CSE or ECE.
Placements: The college provides a few placement opportunities for the students of the mechanical engineering department when compared with other departments. I suggest you not to choose the mechanical department if you are looking to take admission in MIMIT. If you still want to choose the mechanical department, you must have some extraordinary skills.
Infrastructure: One thing I can assure you is that you will not face any issues regarding the infrastructure of the college. The college provides the high-speed Wi-Fi facility. Labs and classrooms are well furnished and properly ventilated. Medical facilities are available on the campus. There are big sports grounds for both indoor and outdoor games. The classrooms are very good. The food available in the mess is not that good, and rooms are average. I didn't face any issues regarding the infrastructure of the college.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified. All of them have doctorates, and they are not very helpful and supportive. But some are helpful. Some teachers are knowledgeable. They have tremendous knowledge. Teaching methods used are very good. Student to faculty ratio is approximately 110:1. The college has provided internships in some industries. The course curriculum is useful.

Satisfied with the college, and it is AICTE approved college.
Placements: I got placed in a well-reputed company with a salary package of Rs. 15,000 per month. I know initially, the salary package is quite low, but it will increase eventually. Mahindra and other companies visit our campus for placements. Some students opt for M.Tech, so the placement rate decreases.
Infrastructure: Mechanical engineering labs are very good. All the labs are well-equipped and air-conditioned. Fluid mechanics lab, refrigeration lab, Auto-CAD/CAM lab, etc., are available in the college. There are multi-purpose workshops. The library is completely digital and air-conditioned. I recommend you to take a PG instead of hostel in the college.
Faculty: Teachers in the college are supportive and experienced. Their way of teaching is very good. They use the easiest way to explain the concepts. The applied science department is the best department compared to other departments. The faculty members make us know what is going so far in the industry. We often go for industrial visits.
Other: CM scholarship is provided to deserving candidates.

Our college has good faculty and labs, but it lacks in providing the industry exposure.
Placements: Placements provided for the students of our batch are fine. In my batch, about 30% of the students got placed with the highest salary of 1.2 LPA. The lowest package offered was 1 LPA. Only nine companies visited our campus for placements. Trainee engineer roles are offered for the students at their respective places.
Infrastructure: Facilities in our college are neither too good nor too bad. Labs, canteen, Wi-Fi, classrooms and sports facilities in our college are good. Canteen and the medical facilities in our college are poor. Good facilities are provided in the library.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are helpful and well-qualified. According to the rules of UGC, powerpoint presentations are given for delivering lectures. We get very less industry exposure in B.Tech and MBA. Students must be very aggressive to utilise this facility.
