Maulana Azad Institute offers MBBS course based on NEET scores. It had released the Round 2 cutoffs across various AI and Home State categories. The cutoffs are subject to change based on a variety of factors, including the number of applicants, degree of difficulty, the question paper and goodwill of the institute, influence the cutoffs. Lets discuss all the factors influence the cutoffs:
- Total number of seats available: The cutoff primarily depends on the total number of seats available in medical colleges across the country for that particular year. If the seats are less, there are chances of lower cutoff ranks.
- Number of candidates appearing for the exam: The larger the number of candidates appearing for NEET, the higher the competition and the higher the cutoff scores. If the pool of students seeking admission are more for any institute then, it might affect its cutoff ranks to decrease in future.
- Difficulty level of the question paper: If the question paper is perceived to be difficult in a given year, the cutoff scores tend to be lower to account for the tougher exam. Conversely, an easier paper may result in lower cutoff ranks and Vise Versa.
- Normalization process: NEET UG uses a normalization process to ensure fairness across multiple sessions of the exam. This normalization takes into account the difficulty level of each session's question paper. The decrease in the cutoff somehow due to the tough exam based on different shifts.
