Absolutely good college.

Placements: A placement review is an evaluation of the campus placement process, companies visited, student performance, and overall outcome. It helps the college understand strengths, weaknesses, and improvements needed in placements. Campus placements are conducted for final-year students. Reputed core and IT companies participated. The placement process included aptitude tests, technical grounds, and HR interviews.

Infrastructure: A hostel provides accommodation and basic facilities for students within or near the college campus. A good hostel environment helps students focus on studies and overall development. Rooms are clean, well-ventilated, and comfortable. Adequate furniture such as beds, tables, and cupboards, is provided. The mess provides hygienic and nutritious food. The menu is balanced and changed regularly. Cleanliness & hygiene are maintained.

Faculty: Faculty members play an important role in students' academic and professional development. A good faculty supports students through effective teaching, guidance, and motivation. Faculty explain concepts clearly and easily. Subjects are taught according to the syllabus and exam pattern.

Other: The crowd and campus environment play an important role in students' academic life, discipline, and overall development. A good campus with a positive student crowd creates a healthy learning atmosphere. Students come from different regions and backgrounds. This helps in cultural exchange and teamwork.

Review of Malnad College of Engineering and the mechanical department.

Placements: Placements in the Mechanical Engineering department are good. Around 65 to 70 percent of students get placed every year. The highest package is about 8 LPA, the lowest package is around 3 LPA, and the average package is nearly 4.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies include Tata Motors, L&T, Bosch, Toyota, and Infosys. Many students also get internships in manufacturing and design companies. Common job roles offered are design engineer, production engineer, quality engineer, and maintenance engineer.

Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are good and well-maintained. Rooms are clean and cleaned regularly by staff. Drinking water is available on every floor. Hostel food is simple, healthy, and mostly hygienic. The mess is cleaned daily and food is served on time. The quality of food is average but acceptable for students. The canteen is available on campus. Medical facilities are provided for basic health issues. Security is good in the hostel area. The hostel hygiene and food quality are satisfactory for students.

Faculty: The teachers in the college are helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. Most faculty members explain concepts clearly and support students during exams and projects. Teaching quality is good with a mix of theory and practical examples. The curriculum is relevant and follows university guidelines. It helps students understand basic industry needs and core subjects. Some subjects include practical labs and assignments. Semester exams are moderately difficult and based on the syllabus taught in class. With regular study exams are easy to pass. The pass percentage is good.

It has a lot of changes now.

Placements: It is a good college with a very beautiful atmosphere. Our college offers good placements. If we score good grades, then we can get good jobs.

Infrastructure: Our college has good facilities. It has developed infrastructure. Classrooms are very spacious and good. It has Wi-Fi. The library is very large, and it is easy to study in the library. We can enjoy the atmosphere.

Faculty: Our college is value for money. Teachers are very helpful. They are available in the staff room every time. They are very nice and will give attendance easily.

Other: Our college conducts many extracurricular activities. Clubs conduct programs every month, and we can participate and showcase our talent. It also conducts good events.

Lecturers are absolute psychopaths. You cannot gain good marks to go to higher studies.

Placements: Only six members (including me) were placed in the core company (Toyota) that was off campus. Unfortunately, even Mercedes-Benz hires exclusively for IT roles, leaving core opportunities limited only to women (2 girls per year). 90% placement includes people placed in QSpider, JSpider, Kodenest, and Quant Masters (training institutes). They also include people who have been placed off campus through mass hiring at Infosys, TCS and Accenture. The funniest part is that they include students who got their parents jobs after their deaths and students who got government jobs on a PUC basis.

Infrastructure: The hostel is good and free. You can sneak into the hostel. Not too strict. But not too free; you also need to be careful. Also, the food is not bad. It's just okay. There is no Wi-Fi on campus. You cannot just use it. The library is full of couples. No sports, no games, and no medical facilities (bad response during the COVID-19 outbreak in the hostel).

Faculty: Terrible lecturers. They just play YouTube in class. We have to sit just to watch YouTube in the classroom. Attendance is not taken regularly. Purposefully, they are not giving aggregate marks. 12 mark derivations are given for 5 marks to ruin exam timings. One easy problem is solved in class and the most difficult problem comes in the exam. They are not making the industry ready. You will gain zero knowledge about actual mechanical engineering.

Other: You will have limited connectivity to the real world because this college is 25 years younger. But there are clubs that collect money and scam everyone in the name of festivals. Fests are cancelled quite often, giving absurd reasons.

It is a very good college to join.

Placements: Placements are average in our college. Only a few companies visit our college for campus placements. A few students got campus placements. Students can apply for placements in our college or outside. Students can do internships where they want.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good but it has poor maintenance. We have a very large campus but it is not good. Wi-Fi is available in our college but its poor. Its speed is not good. Only a few sports facilities are available in our college. Our college management should focus on sports. It should provide VTU-level sports.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful. They always clarify our doubts. The course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are difficult and students need to study well to pass. If we study properly, we will score good marks.

Other: Our college is worth the money paid.

Really good college to enjoy, learn and spend 4 years of your life.

Placements: In our college, there are very average placements and very less number of students get campus placements. Many students go in search for jobs. The highest package offered is INR 7LPA and the lowest package is INR 2LPA. The internship option is given to students from the college and also from off campus.

Infrastructure: Average infrastructure, but the college should keep the infrastructure clean, so that the campus looks good. Wi-Fi facility is available, but the Wi-Fi connections are very poor. If we complain about the Wi-Fi to the staff then also the actions are not taken. Really disappointed from all this.

Faculty: Very few teachers are helpful to the students, they clear students doubts if asked, and remaining teachers are helpful. Now coming to semester exams, exams are tough and if you study well then only you can pass your exams. It is difficult to score good in end semester exams.

Satisfied with the college environment, Excellent placements for my batch, Good practical knowledge.

Placements: Malnad college of engineering provides good placements to the students as many companies such as Mercedes, tech Mahindra and over 30 companies come to recruit students. In the year 2022, around 80% of the batch was placed in the college and about 90% from my specific branch (Mechanical) were placed. The average salary package that was offered was about 5 - 6 Lacs per annum and the top salary package was from Goldman Sachs and the lowest salary package was from Qspiders. 95% of the students from my domain were selected for internships in bosch, Toyota, NASD etc. The top roles from my domain were given by bosch and Toyota as associate designers and their package was about 12 Lacs per annum.

Infrastructure: The Infrastructure in MCE is amongst the finest of colleges. MCE has departments which have proper classrooms for each department and labs for each of them. MCE has a highly established library where we get books from all around the world with top-rated authors. The hostels in MCE are one of the cleanest and have four blocks where each block is allotted for individuals of the particular year they are studying. The canteen in MCE is like a hotspot where they give good delicious food. Sports in MCE is among the top priority which has well maintained Basketball court, football court, Volleyball court, Swimming pool, Badminton court etc.

Faculty: The faculty in MCE are highly qualified. The professors have Masters's degrees and many of the professors have PhD whose teachings are top-notch for the students. The courses which are there in the college make them industry ready as they provide more practical knowledge. There are 8 semesters in which the exams are not too easy but not too tough. The pass percentage is 40%.

Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering as I have an interest in machines and cars. The best thing about the course is the practical knowledge that we get which helps us to know the topics very well and understand them very well. The duration for each day can be reduced. Many events take place in this college. It happens both in the even and the odd semester. The ambience in this college is very calm and soothing. The College provide many scholarship facilities for the students which is a big plus point for the students. Many extracurricular activities take place in this college.

The college is really satisfying.

Placements: 60-70% of students get placed every year. The highest package I know is 12 lakh per annum and the lowest is 6 LPA. Mercedes Benz is one of the top recruiting companies. Biocon, Infosys etc. also visit the college. Every single student gets to do internship programme.

Infrastructure: The hostel is excellent in terms of infrastructure only. The downside is that washrooms are common. However, hostel students are provided with good food every day. In addition, the hostel has Wi-Fi facility. Hostellers are allowed in the playground for recreation.

Faculty: The teachers are accommodating. Everyone is highly qualified and experienced. Teachers help students even with doubts unrelated to the syllabus. The college train everyone to be industry ready. The internships after 2nd semester are beneficial.

Other: Our college actively participates in sports activities and encourages students who participate.
