NIFT Delhi MDes is a two-year course offered in full-time mode at the postgraduate level. Admission is done based on a valid score obtained in the entrance exam comprising of a Creative Ability Test (CAT) and a General Ability Test (GAT). NIFT Delhi MDes 2025 FAQs
NIFT Application 2026 is closed now. The registration started on December 08, 2025. NIFT 2026 Application forms and Notifications can be out anytime now for B.Des, M.Des, B.F. Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M programmes. The application form will be released at @nift.ac.in. The NIFT entrance exam application form is the same for all courses. The application fee for NIFT is INR 2,000 (INR 500 for SC, ST, and PwD categories). NIFT Application forms can also be filled with late fees. The late fee is INR 5,000.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) releases the official schedule at - niftadmissions. The schedule includes the event-wise dates related to the NIFT 2025 entrance exam. This includes the release of the NIFT 2025 application form, the application last date (with regular and late fees), written exam date, declaration of results, etc. Alternatively, the candidate can follow this page to stay updated about NIFT 2025 exam.

Yes, the National Institute of Fashion Technology will allow candidates with late fees. The late fee application window will open once the deadline to fill out the NIFT 2024 application form with regular fee closes. The start and last date to fill out the NIFT 2024 application form with late fee will be notified by the institute before the regular application form closes or sometime thereabout. The late fee for NIFT 2024 will be INR 5,000. The late fee has to be paid in addition to the application fee, which is INR 3000 for open category candidates.
The NIFT CAT exam will be administered in an offline mode and will be a drawing-based exam. During the course of the exam, the candidate is not allowed to write any personal details and place identification marks. The CAT exam will evaluate the candidate on parameters like intuitive ability, power of observation in concept development, and design ability. To prepare for the CAT the candidate needs to work on geometrical shapes, product drawing, line quality, shading, human figures, principles of composition, etc. To improve ones figure drawing skills, one may stick drawing, before moving on to block drawing, and then evolving to add clothes and other items.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) may or may not conduct mock tests. So, the candidate can take mock tests conducted by coaching institutes or by online outlets to practice for the exam. Typically, the more mock tests a candidate takes, better it is from an exam point of view.
For NIFT 2026 exam preparation, it is advisable that one should:
Take at least one mock test on a daily basis for proper preparation.
Taking a total number of 10-15 mock tests would greatly help in your exam preparation.
Furthermore, if one is well prepared, taking 2-3 mock tests in the last few weeks would be enough, while those who lack confidence could benefit from 4-5.

National Institute of Fashion Technology, Delhi gives various infrastructure facilities for the convenience of the students. Fully equipped labs, three seminar/ conference halls, a resource centre with more than 15,000 books, and a hostel with 200 beds etc. are some of the facilities.

No, it's not easy to get admission in NIFT Delhi. As per the multiple sources on web, the acceptance rate is between 13% and 15% for the Delhi campus. The closing cutoff for General Category for BDes Fashion Communication is 62. It is even more competitive for MDes. In 2026, the closing rank for MDe

Yes, students can get admission in NIFT Delhi UG programmes after Class 12. Students have to apply and appear for the NIFTEE test. The final selection for BDes and BFTech programmes is based on the performance in the entrance test.

To get admission in NIFT Delhi, students have to check the eligibility first. Eligible students can then apply online. The institute selects students through an entrance basis only. Students have to appear for the NIFTEE and clear the other selection rounds. This includes counselling and interview.
