NIFT Delhi Cutoff 2025: Check NIFT Round Wise Cutoff Ranks

The National Instituite of Fashion Technology will release the NIFT 2026 at the time of seat allotment and counseling.

The cut-offs will be available institute and category-wise for all the program at nift.admissions.nic.in.

The cut-offs will be prepared by considering factors like the seat intake, the merit rank of candidates, admission category, etc. Note that if the seat intake is increase the cut-off would likely go down and vice versa.

The NIFT General Ability Test (GAT) for the B. Des is conducted as a LAN-based, CBT exam. The exam is conducted in a centre-based mode and is bilingual. The duration of the exam is 120 minutes. The candidates will have to attempt 100 multiple-choice questions, which will be asked from sections like Communication Ability, English Comprehension, Quantitative Ability, Analytical Ability, and GK and Current Affairs. The GAT paper will be conducted first, followed by the Creative Ability Test (CAT). Candidates will be shortlisted for a Studio Test and Personal Interview (2nd stage) based on their performance in the written exams (CAT and GAT).

The written tests for the NIFT 2026 exam will be held in the second week of February 2026 (tentative). The detailed schedule will also be released soon by NTA. The written tests comprise a General Ability Test (GAT) and a Creative Ability Test (CAT). GAT is mandatory for all candidates, but CAT is only required for BDes and MDes candidates. 

The GAT test is considered in a computer-based mode, whereas the CAT is offline based. Note that scores of the written exams will be used to shortlist candidates for a Situation Test/ Personal Interview.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) Delhi offers a four-year full-time B.Des course at the undergraduate level. The aspirants who are Class 12 or equivalent exam pass can apply for the BDes course of NIFT Delhi. Additionally, students should not exceed 24 yers of age (29 years for SC/ ST/ PWD category students) as of August 1 of the admission year. To prepare for the CAT the candidate needs to work on geometrical shapes, product drawing, line quality, shading, human figures, principles of composition, etc. To improve ones figure drawing skills, one may stick drawing, before moving on to block drawing, and then evolving to add clothes and other items.

NIFT Delhi offers a two-year full-time MDes course at the postgraduate level. NIFT Delhi cutoff 2024 has been released up to Round 5 wherein the closing rank for the MDes course stood at 25 for the General category students under the All India quota. So, candidates seeking admission to NIFT Delhi this year must secure a rank up to 25 to be eligible for MDes course.

Candidates seeking admission to the BDes programmes of NIFT Delhi must meet the course-specific eligibility requirements. The aspirants who are Class 12 pass from any recognised central or state, such as CBSE/State Board New Delhi/Council for Indian School of Certificate Examination, New Delhi are eligible to apply. Additionally, the candidates with a passing grade in the Senior Secondary School examination conducted by the National Open School with a minimum of five subjects are also eligible to apply for BDes at NIFT Delhi. Aspirants must hold the relevant documents. These are required for verification purposes. 

Yes, candidates are required to appear for a written examination, which includes a Creative Ability Test CAT and a General Ability Test GAT for admission to the NIFT Delhi B. Des programme. Students who clear both tests are required to appear for the SAT for the final selection.
