National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur has a variety of courses available. These courses are offered across UG and PG levels. NIFT is a national-level design entrance exam conducted by the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT). The exam is conducted once every year and it consist of two parts, i.e, first one is, written exam and second is, situation test/personal interview.
- Written Exams - It comprise the GAT and CAT. The GAT paper is mandatory for all programs, while only BDes and MDes candidates need to take the CAT.
- Situation Test/ Personal Interview - BDes candidates who get shortlisted have to appear in the Situation Test, whereas PG candidates need to appear in a Personal Interview. The only exception is BFTech program, where the admission merit list will be prepared solely based on GAT scores.
The FINAL score of NIFT 2024 for the other programs will be prepared by giving weightage to the written exams and Situation Test/ Personal Interview.
The scores or merit rank of NIFT will be considered for admission to design courses offered by the NIFT participating institutes. Currently, there are 18 participating institutes that offer the following courses - BDes, MDes, BFTech, MFTech, and MFM courses.
The total course fee is inclusive of tuition fees, hostel charges, registration fees, security deposit, etc. Some of the fee components along with the amount for the NIFT Kannur MFM course are mentioned below:

NIFT Kannur is a government institute. It has a great infrastructure and is equipped with great facilities, well-equipped design studios, a well-stocked library, computer labs etc. Like other NIFT campuses, it offers undergraduate and postgraduate programs and addmission to these programs is based on marks scored in NIFT Entrance Exam. The entrance exam is further divided into three parts, i.e., Creative Ability Test (CAT), General Ability Test (GAT) and Situation Test/ Group Discussion and Personal Interview (GD and PI) round.

The National Institute of Fashion Technology, Kannur fees vary depending on various factors. Students are required to pay the application fee to submit the form and complete the application process of NIFT Kannur. It is non-refundable. It should be noted that the fee is taken from the official source and is subject to change. Interested candidates can find out the category-wise NIFT Application fee that has to be paid in the table mentioned below:

For the current academic year (2022–2023), the hostel price is Rs. 46000, excluding mess fees. In addition to the foregoing, new participants must pay a non-refundable security deposit of Rs. 3000 and a refundable security deposit of Rs. 3000, for a total of Rs. 52000 for non-AC rooms with triple occupancy. Charges for triple occupancy AC rooms will be Rs. 90,000 plus Rs. 6,000 in refundable security, for a total of Rs. 99,000 (subject to construction completion). It could vary in accordance with authority decisions, and any changes would be announced separately.
In addition, one month's worth of Mess fees may be applied for Mess Security.
The National Institute of Fashion Technology Kannur accepts NIFT entrance exam for admission to the B.Des course. NIFT cutoff 2023 was concluded for the academic year 2023-24. As per the NIFT Kannur cutoff 2023, the last round closing rank for B.Des was 1279 for the General category students for the All India quota. For 2022 and 2021, NIFT Kannur last round closing ranks for B.Des stood at 1631 and 1666.

NIFT Kannur Cutoff 2024 Round 3 was released for different M.Des, MFM and B.Des courses. The Cutoff was released for different categories under the AI quota. For the General AI category candidates, the Cutoff ranks ranged between 206 and 2229. The most competitive course was Master of Design (M.Des)
