Do we need to join coaching to prepare for NIFT entrance exam?

Joining a coaching for NIFT preparation is not really needed. Coaching is for those who want to learn how to draw things. But, if someone has this talent, which most students passionate about sketching and painting do possess, there is no need for coaching. One can prepare through self-study. For your understanding, I would like to give an example. In coaching, students are made to learn how to draw the 3D image by various techniques using measuring instruments but one who is natural at art can imagine what 3D image would look like if it has to be drawn on a paper and would draw the same. In both cases, the outcome is the same. Regarding theory, that is, GAT, if you are confident to solve Maths, History, Geography, General science up till class 10th level, then there is definitely no need for coaching. Though the level of English is a bit high you can improve it yourself.

How many mock tests do I need to take for the NIFT exam?

There is no fixed number of mock tests one should take before the NIFT Entrance Exam. A candidate should take at least one mock test daily for the NIFT Entrance Preparation. 10-15 mock tests will really help in preparing for the exam.

NIFT Participating Institutes 2027 - There are 20 NIFT participating institutes. NIFT Raipur has been newly added to the list of NIFT participating colleges. These institutes offer the following design courses: B.Des, M.Des, B.F.Tech, M.F.Tech, and M.F.M courses.

The combined seat intake offered by the participating institutes in 2027 is expected to be around 5076 seats. These will probably include 4596 All-India seats and 480 state domicile seats. At the UG level, the B.Des has an intake of 3423 seats, while the B.F.Tech program have 591 seats. The Master's courses at NIFT 2027 (M.Des, M.F.Tech, MFM) are to have a combined intake of 1,062 seats. Admission to these courses will be based on NIFT Exam. There will be 708 available under the NLEA category, including 180 seats for NRI candidates.

NIFT B.Des 2027 Seat Intake

The 20 participating NIFTs offer an intake of approximately 4,837 seats (regular). Of the total NIFT seat intake, 4392 are All India seats. Note that under All India seats, candidates of any domicile can apply. However, domicile seats are reserved for candidates with the domicile of that particular state. For the 2027 session, there will be a total of around 448 domicile seats.
