I am satisfied with my college. It gives us so many opportunities if we are hardworking and aware.
Placements: Placements are pretty decent. Many tech companies, such as Oracle, Cisco, PhonePe, and Paytm, visit the campus for SDE and Data Scientist roles. Many companies allow core branches to sit for tech placements as well. Core companies like Tata Steel, SLB, and Reliance also visit the campus for core branch recruitment. The placement percentage is also very good.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is good. All facilities are well-established on campus. Mess food is average. The menu includes non-vegetarian food for non-vegetarian students for six days a week. In labs, all equipment is available with proper Wi-Fi connections. Sports facilities are excellent. All major sports facilities are available. A gym is also present for both girls and boys.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified and actively engaged in research. The teaching quality is average, like in other colleges. The course curriculum is quite relevant. Semester exams are not very difficult, and most questions come from PYQs and class notes. Students can score well with 2–3 days of preparation.
Other: The Aayam fest takes place every year. The tech fest also happens annually.

A true review by a student.
Placements: Placement is average. Many people usually prepare for software-related roles because more companies are coming into this field but if you are preparing for core, there could be fewer opportunities for you. Data Analyst, software engineer, etc., are roles offered. Although internship opportunities are good in this branch. Usually top companies come for internships, like Cisco, Accenture, etc.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the institute is quite good. In the girls' hostel 2 new blocks have been constructed recently, the boys' hostel is decent, and the food in the different mess is also edible. The major problem here is that the 5G doesn't work properly and when there is a change in weather the network becomes worse. Although Wi-Fi facilities are provided in hostels and the library except in the new blocks of girls' hostel there is no Wi-Fi but it's limited and sometimes it also doesn't work properly
Faculty: Faculty are good but in this branch they are strict and you have to maintain your attendance otherwise if your attendance is low there are strict rules regarding low attendance like lowering grade and being debarred. Exam levels are okay like not too tough usually related to PYQs. .

I am absolutely satisfied with my college. My best decision was taking admission in NIT.
Placements: Around 90 percent of students are placed. The highest package is around 52 LPA. Microsoft is one of the top hiring companies. Around 50 students get internships. The top role offered is Software Development Engineer (SDE). At my college, the off-campus placement conditions are also good. There is a good hackathon culture.
Infrastructure: We at NIT Agartala have three hostels, two for boys and one for girls. RNT hostels are for first and fourth year students. Aryabhatta hostel is for second and third year students. The condition of the RNT hostel is very good as it is new, but the Aryabhatta hostel is not that good. Mess food is also average.
Faculty: Teachers from ECE are helpful, but opinions are mixed. Some courses are not very relevant according to industry needs. Especially in ECE, where the old curriculum includes digital, analog, and control systems. Labs are also not very good, as they mostly follow old experiments without much innovation.

A place for overall growth.
Placements: Total strength in ECE is about 110 students every year, students (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th). In 2026, among 110 students, 86% students got placed on campus in reputed companies. Top recruiters are LNT, BHEL, Bharat Electronics, Microsoft, Google, Siemens, HDFC, Oracle, etc.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is available everywhere inside. The large campus is spread over 365 acres. Hostel is far better than other NITs. In 1st and 2nd years, you live with 2 students in a single room with 2 beds and 1 common table. Hospital is open 24/7. For different sports and games, we have different grounds.
Faculty: Almost all teachers have completed their Ph.Ds or Master's from different IITs, NITs, and some of them from foreign countries as well. So, we don't have to raise concerns regarding their knowledge. Course curriculum is relevant in every aspect. Semester exams are not as difficult as JEE.
Other: I chose this course due to my keen interest in Electronics and a good number of packages as well. The college has a strong alumni network that triggers me to improve day by day. Events and fests are held properly, and other colleges also participate in them.

A good college, as an NIT, but can be better in many other ways. Though the NIT tag helps a lot.
Placements: In B.S. + M.S. in Physics, most students opt for higher studies. Only a few opt for placements, and that too only BSMS mathematics students sit for placements mostly. Only 10% of students get placed. Companies like Cisco and PhysicsWallah come to recruit students. Roles like software engineer and teacher are offered in my course. The highest package is 19 LPA. The lowest package is 6 LPA. Research internships like IISC Bangalore and IISERs are most common.
Infrastructure: 2 GB of Wi-Fi is available for each student. The infrastructure is decent enough with good classrooms and labs. The library is good, with all sorts of books, air-conditioned, and a reading room as well. The infrastructure is better than most other NITs since it is a relatively new college.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly helpful, with a few exceptions. Almost all of them are highly qualified. The teaching quality is pretty average. The course curriculum is relevant and versatile. Students get the research exposure needed for higher studies here. Semester exams are not too difficult, but studying is mandatory, without which passing is very hard. Almost 80% of students pass exams.

College is totally good. I suggest students don't join the BS degree if they want placements.
Placements: In my course, there are 25 seats, out of which 21 seats have been filled. Out of them, only 9 students are placed as there are low placements. In the last year, only 2 students got placements with a package of 15 LPA. Some students got placements with the package ranging from 6-8 LPA because of the BS degree. Only 15 to 20 companies hire students from our course.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is quite good compared to other NITs. We have a large area and sports facilities. Classrooms are good, but in hostels, we face network problems. The hostel has Wi-Fi for which we get 2 GB per day and water coolers, but some do not work. There are so many water coolers, so there is not that much of a problem.
Faculty: In our department, some faculty members are too good, like 1 faculty member is in the world's top 2 percent of researchers, and other professors are also good. But I can't say anything about some professors. The course structure is good for research purposes. If students want to do a job in the IT sector, then it will never help them. We have to learn skills by ourselves.
