NIT Patna Admission 2026: Cutoff, Fees, Eligibility & Application

NIT Patna offers a full-time five-year BArch programme at the postgraduate level. The National Institute of Technology Patna BArch admission is based on candidates' performance in the JEE Main paper 2, followed by a JoSAA Counselling process. The institute may accept NATA scores. Candidates seeking admission to the NIT Patna BArch course must visit the official website of the National Testing Agency (NTA), to register themselves for JEE. 

The tuition fee is INR 6.25 lakh. Thisi is just the tuition fees. Other charges such as admission fees, security deposits, are also to be paid by students.

Candidates interested in taking admission to the NIT Patna BArch course must have passed Class 12 with a minimum aggregate of 60% with Maths and Physics as compulsory subjects. Apart from fulfilling the minimum eligibility requirement, it is also mandatory to submit a valid JEE Main paper 2 score for the National Institute of Technology Patna BArch admission. 

To secure a place at NIT Panta, candidates need to secure a rank within the JEE Main cutoff range for their particular category. The cutoff was released for AI and HS quota students. 

For the General AI category, the overall cutoff ranged from 878 to 65552. So, students need to rank below 65552 to be eligible for admission at NIT Patna. On the other hand, among the OBC AI category, the rank needed should be below 73797, as this was the last round closing rank.

As per NIT Patna cutoff 2024, the Last Round closing rank for Integrated M.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) has decreased compared to the previous year. The Last Round closing rank for General AI category students for Integrated M.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering (Data Science) was 19527, while for the General Home State category students, the Last Round closing rank was 23853. For BTech CSE, the cutoff was 16697 which decreased to 18206 in 2024.

The time period required to complete the JEE Main preparation depends mainly on the students. Every student has their own pace of study. Ideally, 6-month time is good enough to complete the JEE Main preparation. Students who have started preparing from class 11 or 12 can easily prepare for JEE Main in 6 months considering the topics of JEE syllabus have already been studied in classes 11 and 12.

JEE Main preparation is most effective with classes 11 and 12 as almost 90-95 percent of topics are similar in both exams. This way students can easily complete the entire JEE Main syllabus as well as the syllabus of classes 11 and 12. After the board exams, students get 1-2 months' time where they can focus entirely on JEE Main. Students who have started late for the JEE Main exam can make a 6-month plan where in the first three months they have to focus on revising the syllabus studied in classes 11 and 12. In the next two months focus on solving questions of JEE Main and analyzing the mistakes being made, if any. The last month should be focused on solving mock tests and JEE Main previous year question papers.

For the upcoming admission session 2025, candidates are required to fill an online application form on the online admission portal of DASA. To apply for the DASA UG counselling process, candidates can follow the step mentioned below:

• The candidates eligible for DASA counselling have to register to be able to participate in the admission process. The DASA counselling registration process is given below:
• To register, the candidate needs to enter the JEE Main 2025 application number and Date of Birth. A web link will be mailed to complete the registration process on the email ID registered with JEE Main. The application number of JEE Mains will be your username.
• In the registration form, candidates have to fill in the required details. Applicants are required to upload the following:

1. the latest passport size photograph in JPG format (size ~ 3.5cmx3.5cm, file size < 100kB).
2. Scanned signature of applicant in JPG format (file size<100 kB). 

• Submit the completed DASA application form. The submitted online registration form should be downloaded and saved for their records. However, there is no need to send the hard copy of the form and documents to the DASA office.

NIT Patna cutoff 2025 is yet to be released. However, NIT Patna cutoff 2022 for the admission to BTech and BArch courses was released in the form of opening and closing ranks on the official website of DASA.
