There are nice faculty, renowned college, but it is autonomous, so try to know everything about it.
Placements: Placements are good compared to the other JIS groups. Though you won't find Google or Amazon coming to recruit you, TCS and other reputed companies are always a choice. The recruitment is good with a nice salary for an intern. The highest salary offered in the last year was Rs. 40,000 per month and the lowest was probably near to Rs. 18,000 per month. The internship offered is like 70%, to most of the deserving candidates.
Infrastructure: The college is still developing, and it won't stop until there. You will surely enjoy the college. Though it is autonomous, most of the complication starts from there. The Wi-Fi is not available. Promises are made about getting Wi-Fi and gym, but you won't get anything. The canteen food is not good at all. Hostel for guys are good, and even for girls it's safe, but don't rely on the food.
Faculty: Teachers are always helpful. Many of the books in the college are written by some of our teachers. The staff are good, they would even listen to every issue. They will be there if you need them. The course curriculum is useful, and many courses are started to get a better interaction with the students and the teachers.
Other: The tech fest and cultural fests are known amongst the top engineering colleges in West Bengal. You can apply for the scholarship that would reduce Rs. 8,000 to Rs. 10,000 from your semester fees. It depends upon your marks and percentage.
