Absolutely satisfied with NIT Patna.
Placements: 80% of students were placed in my course last year. The highest package in my course is 18 LPA, the lowest package is 6.5 LPA, and the average package is unknown to me. Top recruiting companies in my course are TCS, Mahindra, Wipro, Infosys, HSBC, NTPC, and BHEL.
Infrastructure: I live in the hostel named Brahmapur hostel of the college National Institute of Technology, Patna. This is one of the largest hostels for boys in NIT Patna. The mess structure of NIT Patna is delicious, and yesterday it was a special dinner.
Faculty: Professors of NIT Patna are so helpful and understanding. They always cooperate with the students of NIT Patna like their own sons. If there is an attendance issue or anything, or in exams, they cooperate so much. They are the best professors.
Other: I chose this course because of my interest in technical domain, and I wanted to do it from NIT Patna itself.

B.Tech. in Civil Engineering - Batch of 2029

It's quite good for placement, but not good for enjoying life due to the lack of events and fests.
Placements: This year, only about 40% of students got placed in our branch. The highest package was around 18 LPA, the lowest was 3.6 LPA, and the average was 7 LPA. Top recruiting companies are L&T, Infosys, TCS, and other software companies, as there are no jobs in the core field. Almost only 20% of students get internships. Top roles offered include Software Engineer, Structural Engineer, Site Engineer, and Environmental Engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities are available but not up to the level of national institute standards. Wi-Fi is available, and the library is good with a capacity of 300 students. The hostel has better facilities now compared to the first year, and there is a good canteen open 24/7. The food in the mess and canteen is good. Medical facilities are available 24/7. Sports and games are available in the college, but not in the hostels.
Faculty: Teachers are quite helpful and provide good guidance for our future, as they are generally from reputable institutes like IIT and IIM. They are knowledgeable. The course is mainly relevant for government jobs, as there are fewer opportunities in the private sector. Most students focus on GATE and government exams. Semester exams are easy, and you can easily pass them by studying in the last week.
Other: I wrote the JEE exam and finally landed in this college after my counselling. More industry-oriented courses are needed to improve placement opportunities in our branch. Events and fests are almost negligible, but there are many other activities performed by students in various clubs. Scholarships are available for students with low family income or for SC and ST students. The campus is good but small, and the surroundings are pleasant, as the college is situated in the middle of the city.

Dissatisfied and average.
Placements: Almost 70 to 80% of students are placed in last year from my course. The highest Package is 10 LPA the lowest is 5.5 LPA and average is 6 LPA. Top companies are L&T construction, Hindustan limited, Akash Institute. Almost 85 percent got internship from my course in companies like Hindustan limited, L&T construction. Top roles offered in course is geotechnical engineer, Site leader, environment engineer, construction engineer.
Infrastructure: Overall facilities is neither good nor bad like everything is present here but there is so congested. Like Wi-Fi doesn't work properly, library is small, classrooms are good enough but laboratory is not modernized. Overall facilities in hostel is good, but the quality of food is below average, sports facilities are also not good, medical facilities is satisfactory for small injury.
Faculty: Some teachers are too good and knowledgeable. Teaching quality is also very good enough. I think so course curriculum is relevant. Semester exams are not that difficult most of the questions are similar from pyqs, the pass percentage is above 5 SGPA or grade point.
Other: I wanted to become a civil engineer because of my passion, and it is the core branch of engineering, by this, I’ll provide work and serve my country. The best things are the concepts of civil engineering and the tasks. I wish the laboratory must be improved for my course in the future. Fests haven’t happened for the past 2 to 3 years, small events happen. The campus is small but good. Scholarships are provided by the college.

4Placements5Infrastructure4Faculty4Crowd & Campus Life4Value for Money
Decent placements, affordable.
Placements: About 55.3% of students are placed in the year 2024-25. The highest package is 41.37 LPA for a UG student in 2024-25, and the lowest package is 5 LPA, companies like Engineering Testing Co. Pvt. Ltd, Gammon India Ltd, Consulting Engineering Service India Limited, and Larsen & Toubro (L&T) recruited students. At least 50% of students received internships and full-time employment at Larsen & Toubro, Ultratech, and Adani Power, with roles such as site engineer and structural engineer.
Infrastructure: All the facilities available in the college are very good. The Department of Civil Engineering is situated in the main building of the college, they provide Wi-Fi connections 24/7. All the laboratories are very well arranged. The central library also looks very attractive and clean, with plenty of space to study.
Faculty: The teachers are very helpful, qualified, and knowledgeable. They have excellent teaching techniques and quality, it is relevant. Semester exams are conducted in a very good and proper way, and the passing percentage of the semester is at least 6.5%.
Other: I chose Civil Engineering because of my passion. The best thing about my course is that it is the best branch in the college. They could improve some attendance criteria. Nowadays, fests are not organized because of shifting to the new campus. The campus crowd is good, connectivity is good, the campus surroundings are also good, and there are extracurricular activities like playing badminton, volleyball, football, etc.

Integrated B.Tech + M.Tech. in Chemical Engineering - Batch of 2029

3Placements3Infrastructure2Faculty3Crowd & Campus Life3Value for Money
Review of NIT Patna - National Institute of Technology.
Placements: I am a 2nd-year undergraduate student at NITP in the Chemical Technology B.Tech - M.Tech dual degree programme. This branch is new at NIT Patna. The first batch started in 2023 and will sit for placement in 2028. The placement statistics are not available for this branch yet.
Infrastructure: Chemical Technology lies in the department of Chemical Science and Technology that is the merger of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Department at NIT Patna. This department building is not made till now, it is going to be establish at Bihta campus. The Wi-Fi facility is quite well in academic areas and classrooms but pathetic in hostel rooms.
Faculty: Faculty members are just average. Despite being highly educated and well-qualified, they lack teaching skills. They are very rude and cruel. Not supportive at all. They hold grudges against students and always shoot at them. Although what they teach only comes in semester exams, semester exams are not that tough.

College is good, but it lacks some basic facilities, and has good placement.
Placements: 88% of students were placed last year. My branch has been the highest placement in any branch after mechanical. The highest placement in electrical is 20 LPA, and the lowest is 3.6 LPA. Top recruiting companies in electrical are TCS, Infosys, HAL, BHEL, L&T, etc. Some tech companies like Google and Microsoft also recruit from the electrical branch. Internship in our college is quite low compared to placement. Almost 30% students get paid internships, however, most of the students get involved in unpaid internships to gain experience. Top roles offered are power system engineer, electrical engineer, and control engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities are not that good if we look at the campus as a central college, as it lacks basic facilities like AC in classrooms, however, there are other departments that have AC installed in them. Wi-Fi is good in the whole campus. Labs are also good as they have all the equipment required. Library is installed in three tiers and has a seating capacity of almost 300 students at a time, and books are also available. Facilities of medical sports and games in our hostel are now good as compared to the first year, which has very bad hostels.
Faculty: Teacher are helpful and knowledgeable as they are highly qualified, mostly with a B.Tech, M.Teach, and PhDs from highly prestigious institutions like IIT. Obviously, electrical has always been highly relevant in the Industry and mostly requires ground work, but it did not actually have a high paying starting salary, but increases as time passes. Now that the difficult one can easily pass if he focuses on class and study consistently daily. The pass percentage depends on other students, as colleges have relatively lenient marking.
Other: I have chosen these courses as I find them relevant and have lots of doors open for me. In the future. Also, I am quite interested in the circuit branch since my class 11. Things that can be improved are teaching more industry ready things rather than teaching those old made curriculum. Events happen frequently, but fest are not that frequent. Campus crowd is not that large now that we have two campuses, so the crowd has been divided. Connectivity and scholarship are also available. Extra activities are performed frequently.
