MBA in Human Resources - Batch of 2017

Our college provides good experiences and placements.
Placements: The college and professors took the campus placements process very seriously. In our batch, top organisations like Adani, Reliance, and Unilever were a part of the process. The highest salary package offered was 10 LPA, and the average salary package offered was 7.5 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 4.75 LPA. Almost 95% of the students were successful in getting internships from our batch. The top role offered were of management trainee and in-charge manager.
Infrastructure: I would rate the college infrastructure a big five out of five as all the classrooms were air-conditioned, and we had whiteboards and also projector facilities for PowerPoint presentations. The laboratories and classrooms were spacious are well maintained. The library had many books other than the daily reference books that were very helpful for further studies and competitive exams also. The canteen facility was quite good and many varieties were available too. Sports facilities were available however our hectic schedule doesn't give us much time to play.
Faculty: Most of the teachers here were visiting facilities having a rich industry experience and they share a lot of valuable insights as to what the industry expectations are. The regular teaching staff was also very cooperative. The course curriculum was coupled with industry visits and internships makes us industry-ready. The semester exams require good practical knowledge and out-of-the-box thinking other than bookish knowledge.

I am very much satisfied with this college.
Placements: 70% of students were placed in my college. The average package offered was an offer for this course. Almost 70% of students got an internship in my college. All were MNC and some Indian companies too. Well, I would not be able to reveal that. But I found this better than others.
Infrastructure: This college is full of all amenities and facilities. Everything is available here, like a park, canteen, playground, and Wi-Fi too. The library and classrooms are very clean and well managed. I feel this college is my second home. The quality of food is good too.
Faculty: I found all the teachers well qualified and polite. They never refuse to help you in clearing your doubts. Offline classes are available too. We can get a solution whenever we want. Yes, the course curriculum is relevant too. The study is never easy, but it was not that much tough as well. My passing percentage was 72%.
Other: I want to make an addition to my career that's why I decided to go for this course. It was reasonable and easy for me. No improvement is required. Everything is easy to approach.

I am lucky to be a part of NMIMS.
Placements: Almost 100% of the students were placed. The highest salary package offered was up to 22 LPA. The lowest salary package offered was 10 LPA. The average salary package offered was more than 13 LPA. Roles offered were from plant HR, corporate HR, HRBP, talent supply chain, analytics, employee engagement, employer branding, etc. Everyone got internships from college. During internships, the average stipend offered was more than Rs. 60,000. There is a placement cell, and entire placement activities are driven by the students in association with the committee of a few crucial faculty members.
Infrastructure: The quality of the food served, infrastructure, classrooms, is way above usual standards. I did not face any issues regarding the infrastructure of the college. There is an indoor game room comprising of the pool, TT tables, foosball, carrom, etc. The only issue is it has a compact building. Moreover, there isn't much of a college linked hostel facility, which was an issue initially. But gradually one gets accustomed to it.
Faculty: Teachers in our college are the best. It's mostly case-based and workshops driven. Corporate projects and academic projects are continuous in all the trimesters. There are regular evaluation and timelines set at the beginning of each trimester where the faculty members set the agendas going forward.

Average placements and good exposure, but the hostel is bad.
Placements: Placements are good for the core branches, but for HR students, it becomes a struggle after a point of time. The CTC offered is around 9-15 lacs per annum. The batch consists of 60-80 students. Mostly, good companies offer PPOs through summer internships. Many brands are coming in for offering summer internships, like Reliance, Mahindra, and Michael Page. But, the process of providing final placements is a little slow and have very few brands like Maruti and mostly IT companies offering HR roles. The placement committee functions just like the placement committee of any other MBA college.
Infrastructure: The facilities provided in our college are good. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled. Classrooms are well-furnished and have smart boards. Sports facilities are scarce as there is no ground as such. There is a lack of campus, and NMIMS is only one academic building. Quality of labs and library is excellent. The library contains a lot of good titles, a Bloomberg terminal as well as a digital library. Coming to the hostel facilities, they are charging a lot while offering very limited facilities. The food is good in the canteen but horrible in the hostel mess.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. A lot of importance is given to class participation, so there is a lot of peer-to-peer learning as well. Mostly, Harvard modules and cases are used for teaching which are very informative. The course curriculum is updated every year after taking feedback from students. The faculty to student ratio varies. It is 1:63 for our batch and 1:40 for our senior batch.

This is an institute where academics are given the utmost priority.
Placements: The placement process is smooth with good brand value. Renowned companies visit the college to hire students. Summer placements went well, and finals would be starting soon. Roles offered to the students were completely based on their specialisation. Also, the work done by the committee has been appreciated by students.
Infrastructure: Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, Vile Parle, Mumbai is well-known for its infrastructure. They focus on academics and amenities since it lacks a campus. Quality of classrooms is good with a projector, smart board, mic facility, class storage area, AC, etc.
Faculty: Faculty members in the college are approachable, well-learned and possess accomplished degrees. Our course curriculum is well-planned, and session plan is shared with the students prior to the start of the trimester. Our course outline is highly efficient, and it will be completed on time. Teaching pedagogy followed is in sync with all the faculty members.
Other: There are no events and fests conducted in the college.

A review about NMIMS, Mumbai.
Placements: In our college, the placement percentage is of 90%. The average salary package for HR was 9 LPA. Everyone got an internship from our college leaving out of 1 or 2. The placement cell was helpful. The average stipend was Rs. 25000 per month. The placement cell helped us in a source of new companies, which were initially not a part of our reach. They ensured that the placements keep happening till the last person placed. However, in the end, people have to find placements on their own because the students failed to be selected in any company visiting the campus. Nevertheless, the placement cell ensures that you get a fair chance and can showcase your abilities in front of multiple companies.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of the college is excellent. Everything is well. We have some issues with the elevator facility, as we were moving to the new campus. Rest, everything worked fine during the entire two years of MBA. They also restructured the building and had a theme of rainforest, which was beautiful. Having such a beautiful campus in our prime location in Mumbai have added to our advantage. The cafeteria serves all kinds of food and very hygienic.
Faculty: The faculty members in our college are the best. The teaching mechanism is excellent and extremely professional. Our teachers use various techniques to ensure that the students are attentive and understand the subject. Regarding timings, our lecturers are extremely professional and understandable. The faculty will become more friendly to you at the time of the completion of your MBA.

MBA- HR both corporate and industrial relations
Placements: 100% placements with decent packages, and a great alumni network for further job changes. Every year, the placements have been better in comparison with the previous years. It is the best after XLRI and TISS for HR. One should consider it. The jobs are all kinds from IR to corporate and business partners. All industries are covered and the placement approach is more holistic.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is great, although not a residential programme, yet the building is centrally located in Mumbai, making it one of the plus points for placements. The building is well-maintained and built. The cafeteria is great providing all sorts of cuisines. The infrastructure is something we alumni boast about.
Faculty: The faculty team includes the best kind of industry professionals both in terms of regular and visiting faculty members. The course is rightly structured keeping in mind both corporate and industrial relations. One of the proudest faculty members that we boast about. The faculty members also have a vast industry knowledge which is important for the HR learning. The curriculum included case studies, theory sessions, practical sessions. It also gives us opportunities for corporate projects.

Good college to join if you can strive to be on top and have a lot of money to spare.
Placements: The overall placements are pretty decent, considering the average package. Most good companies have packages of 8.5 lacs and above. It is making a breakthrough in the HR domain rapidly and steadily. With public sector companies like IOCL, etc coming on board, the profile of HR placements has risen to a great extent.
Infrastructure: It is one thing that you can never complain about. Corporate-styled classrooms with ACs that can freeze a person to death, though sports and other recreational facilities are majorly lacking. The canteen is swanky and expensive. But a lot of other options like the Mithibai canteen are at a stone-throw distance. But the overall college building will make you feel like you are in a multinational corporate.
Faculty: The faculty members, most of them, are really good. Of course, some bad apples are present everywhere, but the curriculum is robust and industry-centric. A plethora of guest lecturers and industry connect sessions make it worth the while for the students to attend.
Other: It is a good college if the fee is not a concern. But the ROI is the major most concern for any student joining NMIMS. The strength of NMIMS lies in its location and an extremely strong alumni base spread over a lot of big companies. But if you are in the bottom pool, God save your soul.

The fees is around 20 lakhs for a 2-year full time MBA course in HR from NMIMS College. You need to clear the NMAT exam securing above 92 percentile to get shortlisted and then clear GD and personal interview rounds.
