Review of Pondicherry Engineering College - PEC.

Placements: Almost everyone will get a job. We have to be ready for jobs with the skills. About 100 companies visited here as our college turned into a university. We will get even more companies. Irrespective of what branch you are studying, you can get a job if you have skills.

Infrastructure: Not every building will look like the admin block. Some of the blocks are very old buildings. Wi-Fi is not available in some branches. The hostel food is not that good. It will not satisfy the fee we paid. The shopping complex on our campus is not good. In the first year, three people shared a room in our hostel. There are now six people in each room.

Faculty: Guest faculty members are not good. Professional courses are taught by guest faculty in the final year. ECE will help you get a job offer very quickly.

I am satisfied because of the good environment for studying, faculty, infrastructure and facilities.

Placements: More than 592 offers were made the previous year. The highest salary package offered was 25 LPA and the average salary package offered was 5 LPA. Many top companies, including Dell, Infosys, and others arrived on our campus. Companies such as Jaypee Groups, HCC, TATA, Larsen and Toubro, Unitech, and others participated in our course.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi, good classrooms and a library are available in our college. Facilities are of good quality. The mess food is good and they provide chicken twice a week. A large playground is available for sports and games. There is no signal inside the hostels and classes too. Only BSNL works very well. Wi-Fi will be available 24X7.

Faculty: Teachers in our college are qualified and knowledgeable. They teach properly. They explain it in a good manner. The courses offered here are good and relevant for industrialists. Exam preparation makes it not too difficult. The pass percentage is more than 85%.

Other: I have been interested in civil engineering since my childhood, so I took civil engineering. It has many government job opportunities. This college holds events in grand style.

It is a good place for learning, and can cultivate their future.

Placements: IT related course students were getting placements in decent number. But core courses like civil, mechanical, chemical students may suffer. Apart from these the other courses were getting good number of placements regularly with good salaries.

Infrastructure: The campus was under well-placed structures, and the buildings were good though they look old. Inside premises of departments, it was average. The main appearance of this college was its admin block and its environment. The hostel was not good as compared to private institutions. It was average considering its infrastructure and maintenance.

Faculty: Teachers were good at their work. They had a good interaction during their class hours and their efforts to teach the topics to students will be pleased. The way they teach students will enhance their individual capacity for studying. Exams were tough, and they teach students with good knowledge.

Other: Regarding the campus, there was no restriction on doing anything. There was peace, and it will be a great experience to be a part of PEC college life. It rains quickly but the way students had passed every semester will be unforgettable. The course will be challenging and also tough but it's a worth course. The best part about this college and hostel was that they teach students a lot of good things. Cultural activities will happen frequently and students can see the great intensive experience over there. The students will see all the ups and downs in students' college life which won't repeat in their life. So enjoy every moment. Bunks and arrears were the best part of it, it makes students stronger and also inevitable for their repeatable process of clearing.

It is a very good college with decent facilities.

Placements: Most of the seniors got placed in the college. Over 90% of the students got placed because of our good placement cell. The staff is helpful, and students are also made to go through a small training on how to be ready for an interview.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are very spacious, and the library is good. It consists of all the books we require, and there are medical facilities also available in case of emergency. The canteen is good, pocket friendly and is hygienic.

Faculty: Teachers are highly experienced and knowledgeable. They help students with doubts and queries. The course curriculum is good because it makes us industry-ready which could be the reason for the high placement rate. To clear the examination, you need to study year-round.

Dissatisfied with placements.

Placements: Campus placements came for only person with 96%. Others dint got. Larsen and tourbo was the company which came for placement they recruited only one person among all. Package was 5.3 lakhs per annum and nobody got internships in any company. The lowest package was 1lpa.

Infrastructure: Library was nice. It contain lot of books and stuff to educate ourselves and ambiance was very nice. Food was nice in hostel and hostel ambiance was average and other facilities like Wi-Fi was all-round the campus and it was extremely fast to use and we are happy.

Faculty: Teaching quality was okay. Not upto the mark. There won't be spoon feeding. We have to learn ourselves about the concepts in our field. Lab technicians are rude they won't explain the lab experiments. Teachers are friendly and we'll educated and they are helpful.

Other: Campus ambience was nice.

The infrastructure and faculty are good, and the fee structure is low.

Placements: 100% placements were provided to the students in our batch as well as our senior batch. The highest package offered was 6 LPA, and the lowest package offered was 3 LPA. Many companies visited the college. Among them, the major companies were L&T, TCS, HCL, and Wipro. Roles offered to the students of our department were site engineer, etc., and the students of other departments were offered the roles related to their respective specializations.

Infrastructure: Wi-Fi facility is not available on the whole campus, but it is available in the departments. The library is well-established. Both indoor and outdoor games facilities are available, and a huge football ground, cricket ground, tennis and basketball ground are available.

Faculty: The teachers were well-educated. They taught us well. Every faculty has nearly 10 years of academic experience. Their teaching methods are good but lack new technological teaching. Field visits were held regularly. The course curriculum was up to date and modified frequently.

My college is good for ECE, EEE and CSE branches.

Placements: History of placements for the civil department is very meagre. Not more than 15 students were selected out of 70 from my batch and my seniors as well. Companies visited for the placements in civil engineering are Shapoorji Palloonji Constructions Pvt, L&T and TCS. In PEC placements were good only for ECE, CSE and EEE, and very less for the rest of them.

Infrastructure: I am satisfied with the infrastructure of our college. It is quite good in terms of labs, Wi-Fi connectivity and classrooms. There is a good sports complex as well. The canteen was below average in terms of quality, and least can be spoken about hostels, they are not worth the money. Food is good only when there is non-veg, rest of the time it is not so good.

Faculty: Most of the faculty members are good, but some professors are too harsh. They have to make the subject look easy; instead, they will make it miserable. Some professors are kind hearted and easy going with the students. Teachers are in good numbers, and there is industry exposure as well. In fact, there is IPT in our curriculum.

Other: The college is good for fests and events are also conducted. There is Wi-Fi connectivity in the college.

Other: Pros 1. Ample time available for planning and preparing for your PG entrance exams. 2. Outstanding lab facilities with advanced equipment for 3-dimensional surveying with the help of GPS. 3. More exposure to extra-curricular activities. 4. Vast play area including courts for basketball, volleyball etc. 5. Location advantage - lots of beaches and hangout areas close to the college. Cons: 1. Need to improve classroom infrastructure like benches, tables etc. 2. The quality of teaching staff has to be improved. 3. The college transportation is expensive for day scholars. 4. The hostel and canteen facilities need a lot of improvement.
