Honest review of PSIT Kanpur.
Placements: The percentage of students that are shown in the hordings is not actual, but from the students that are allowed to appear for the placement, maximum chances are that they will get placed. The minimum package is not known to everyone, but it should be at least 2-3 LPA. The top recruiters are TCS, Infosys, HCL, JTC, etc. But the students who got internships are comparatively fewer because getting an internship in large companies is quite competitive.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is good, almost all the classrooms have facilities of ACs and projectors, except for some labs. There are more than enough books in library, from simple semester books to competition books for CAT, GATE, and PYQs. The hostel is also good except that it is very strict, you need to call your parents for permission when you are going outside, even for small things.
Faculty: The professors here are quite knowledgeable and well-qualified. They are also helpful if you want to study more, or you can even go to their cabins for further discussions. The course curriculum is quite relevant compared to other private colleges, as there are PSA (Problem Solving Aspect), VT (Verbal Training) from the first year, which makes students industry-ready. Exams are moderate level but a little tougher than the AKTU exams.
Other: Fest happens only twice a year.

This college is only for studying and nothing else. No campus and college life.
Placements: Placements are average, like all private colleges. According to my knowledge, the highest package is about 15 to 20 LPA, which is offered to very less students. The average and minimum package stands at 3 to 4 LPA. Recruiting companies are TCS, etc. Very less students get internships.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is also average because the campus size is not so big, it is only of 80 acres where all the blocks are made like ECE block, CSE block, pharmacy block, etc. Medical facilities are not so good. Mess food is not so good. Game facilities are okay, but you have to pack up by 9 pm. No sports period for day scholars.
Faculty: Teaching quality is average. There are so many restrictions, and all staff members are always ready to impose huge fines. As this college focuses on study only, you will also find remedial classes after college hours if you get lower marks in tests. There are verbal training and other training classes.

College is good for placement and undergraduate courses.
Placements: Placements are overall good. Average placement for this year is 5-6 LPA, and the highest placement for this year is 70 LPA, which is off campus. If you study well in this college, then there is a very good chance that you will be placed at a decent package.
Infrastructure: Facilities and infrastructure are very good and available. For B.Tech, hostels are good, and the mess food quality is good, not much oily food is available. In my opinion, everything related to the mess, hostel, and infrastructure is good. The college is located a bit too far from the main city, but that is not a very big issue if you do not like to get out of the college too much.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful, they are supportive, and they teach us according to our tech field courses. The curriculum is related to industry demand. Semester exams are easy to pass if I study well. They know what they have to do, and the study plan is very focused on trying to get you placed.
Other: I chose B.Tech in CSE because this college is near my hometown and my relatives are alumni of this college. Events and fests are limited, but okay.

With just 40 percentile in JEE Main OBC, PSIT Kanpur is kinda out of reach.its OBC closing rank usually lies in the 8–10 lakh range. Even with home state quota, you’d need a much better rank.
