B.E. in Mechanical Engineering - Batch of 2027

The college offers good placements for computer courses, a good hostel, and flexible learning.
Placements: My college offers good placement opportunities for computer-related courses such as Computer Science and IT. Placements for core branches like Mechanical, Civil, ECE, and EEE are not as strong compared to computer courses. If you are interested in computer-related fields. This college is definitely a great choice for you.
Infrastructure: I am pursuing Mechanical Engineering, and compared to other departments, my course lacks in certain areas. Though Mechanical is an evergreen branch, it requires more practical and experiential learning. My college offers a Flexi Learning system, which allows students to choose their class timings, something I really appreciate. I recently visited Mahindra R&D, which was very useful. The management conducts events and hackathons every semester, though they benefit computer-related courses more. Hostel facilities are good, with both AC and non-AC rooms, and the food quality is satisfactory, with both veg and non-veg meals served daily.
Faculty: Faculty members in my college are very friendly and teach well, in my opinion. Some of them are really good and have been very satisfying in their teaching methods. However, I feel that certain subjects could have been taught better, as they expected a bit more. I believe they will definitely satisfy you! For SCOFT learners (CSE, IT), all CIAs and skill assessments are conducted online, except for the semester exams, which are held offline. For Non-SCOFT learners, all exams, including CIAs and semester exams, are conducted offline, except for placement training courses.
Other: I chose Mechanical Engineering because I genuinely like the subject. However, this field requires more practical learning and exposure to industrial skills. The current teaching methods are somewhat outdated. That need to be upgraded to match modern industry requirements.

Review of Saveetha Engineering College, Chennai.
Placements: I joined just a few months ago, and I trust it's true about the placement range. The banners and flexes show the packages of 36 LPA in Qualcomm and 26 LPA in Wipro. I think the recruiters surround Saveetha Engineering College for the future because the curriculum is great for future technology. Most of my seniors completed internships within a short time before. As I am a first-year student, I noted the special aspects of my college, but one thing to mention is SCOFT - Saveetha Consortium for Future Technologies (Soft) with courses in CSE, AIDS, IT, and AIML under Soft. The remaining courses are categorized as non-soft courses.
Infrastructure: A new hostel is under construction now, the old hostel is occupied mostly by non-AC rooms. There are many bathrooms and restrooms as well. Water and electricity support is excellent 24/7. The food is average, and most of the morning breakfast is poor. The college has good infrastructure with AC support. Wi-Fi connectivity is inconsistent at times. Labs are strictly maintained with discipline, and restrooms are available on all six floors.
Faculty: Especially this year, our college planned to split classes of 90 into 45 and 45. Once those 45 days is completed, students write the semesters for the particular course. I think this system is only now being followed by Saveetha Engineering College. C and Python programming courses are affected by this system, and students feel the pressure. Other: I took the AIDS course at Saveetha Engineering College. I learned the concepts very quickly. Flexi learning is very supportive for me because students from other departments are also there with many ideas. Saveetha Engineering College is always connected with events and fests. Crowd connectivity and surroundings are good as well. Scholarships are good, but the conditions seem somewhat strict, as they require 80% above in semesters. Extracurricular activities are good. I noticed the senior students on my first day of college.

Really good in infrastructure, faculty and good placements. 97% placed on campus.
Placements: The percentage of students placed is probably I think its 98% students placed in my senior badge. The lowest package is with 5 LPA, the average package is 7 to 8 LPA, and the highest package is 26 LPA. The top recruiting companies for my course are Juspay, J P Morgan Chase, and Salcomm. About the internship, it will be low because the college only offers internships to some students, like bright students. We want to get our own internships.
Infrastructure: At Saveetha Engineering College, infrastructure is very good. I would say there is no better infrastructure in Chennai. It's better than CIT, REC and many top colleges. The campus Wi-Fi is decent most of the time, and the library is spacious with a good collection of books. Coming to the hostel, the rooms are spacious. The rooms are clean and comfortable. But some hostels are still under construction. The mess food is okay. Weakly non-veg food is also supplied for three days.
Faculty: About the teacher, they are really helpful, all have completed PhDs. So they are more knowledgeable. But there are some teachers with little disappointment. Teaching quality is better. They also take extra care for the students and also take an extra class if you want, like separately or with 2 to 3 people. The course curriculum is very relevant. It really makes the student industry-ready. All the courses they provided are really helpful for the industry. Semester exam difficulties are average. We can easily pass the exam, but taking 90% above is a little hard.
Other: They provide different scholarships based on the 12th cutoffs of more than 180. For 180 - 50% scholarship is provided, hostel and transport are free. 185 above - 100% scholarship is provided, hostel and transport free. 190 above - 100% scholarship is provided, hostel and transport free and mess also free.

Really good atmosphere and positive life at Saveetha.
Placements: I am from the 2026 passing out batch of ECE at Saveetha Engineering College. 70% of students in our course are placed the average package offered is 3.37LPA, the highest package offered is 6LPA, and the lowest package offered is 3.6LPA. My sigma and other core/it companies. 100% students will finish the internship because it is mandatory in our college. Manilu in CSE and it.
Infrastructure: Our ECE department has well equipped labs and a smart class, fully Wi-Fi connected, and a library with modern ECE labs and access to a digital library with research journals. I am a day scholar, but food is average in the hostel is average. The hostel is maintained, and the college also provides indoor and outdoor sports facilities supporting both academics and extracurricular activities.
Faculty: Teachers are really good, helpful, well qualified, and knowledgeable. The teaching quality is good with both theoretical and practical focus. The curriculum is relevant and regularly updated, helping students gain industry ready skills, especially through labs, projects, and internships. Pass percentage is 90 to 95%.

Review of Saveetha Engineering College.
Placements: I think mostly 75 per cent are placed this year, the highest salary package is 36 Lacs per annum, the average salary is 6.5 Lacs per annum, and the lowest salary is 4 Lacs per annum. We have maintained a minimum 75 per cent attendance using my Camu. You have to put attendance using that.
Infrastructure: The hostel has good room facilities, but the food is very average and the tower is not available. There is a hospital inside the campus, and it has a lot of canteens, and in college you have Wi-Fi facilities, which are more practical, and a laptop is a must for the soft department and overall good.
Faculty: Faculty members were well-trained, and we have a lot of projects and exams. The facilities are very helpful. We have a system called flexi learn, in this we can select the subject, timing, facilities, and we have to move for all classes and ensure good maintenance.
Other: They have conducted Drestrain, a 1-week event and conduct Celenza, which is a 3-day cultural event.

Great learning and growing space with fewer or no placement opportunities.
Placements: More than 30% of the students have been placed or have received an offer letter. This time, our college placement department is putting in all its efforts to place every student possible. The highest package placement is 20 LPA, the lowest is 2 LPA, and the average package is 4 LPA. The top recruiting companies for my course are Avasoft, Black Straws, Zangoh, UPS, and 6S Consulting. 40% of students in my course have an internship that is on-board or completed. Top roles offered in my course are AI engineers, data science engineers, and machine learning engineers.
Infrastructure: Facilities available for the course are really good as there are classrooms and libraries, air-conditioned with sufficient basic facilities. Restrooms are neat, but currently, a lot of restrooms and classes are under renovation, and students find it difficult. Wi-Fi is no problem to work with, but at times the laptop college has provided would make it difficult to connect due to mode issues. The hostel facility is at best, as rooms are neat and clean, but the mess food is at its worst, as it is not hygienic. Sports and games are a major priority of the college.
Faculty: Teachers are well-versed and update themselves in their field. Teachers go through frequent tests as students do to check the quality of their teaching. Teaching quality is great as the teacher helps us to understand. The course curriculum is updated and made relevant every once in a while to make sure it keeps the learners industry-ready and skilled. There are not just theory lessons but hands-on practices at the end of each chapter to attain the credit of a course. Semester exams are not difficult, it is easier if the mentor's guide is followed.
Other: I chose artificial intelligence and machine learning as it's a growing field and interested me in the math behind it. Exploring a lot of new technology and building with it. The slots system could be more systematized and planned according to. The college conducts lots of tech events like Drestin, which is an inter-college and one-day event where students can present their learnings or projects to other students. Tech-society guides students to build their ideas and present them at competitions and other tech events. There are clubs for every tech or non-tech space. Scholarships from different competitive exams.

Saveetha Engineering College does admit students via a management quota, which involves paying a donation. However, students admitted purely on merit—through their admission test (SEAT)—do not need to pay any donation.
