Seacom Engineering College is one of the most affordable colleges in Kolkata for UG and PG.
Placements: Nearly 90% of students got placed. Companies from all over India come here and select their suitable candidates. They also send some experts to train at the college.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't have its own hostel. But there are so many PGs in the station area. People living near Howrah should not take any hostels to attend college.
Faculty: Teachers are very supportive, well qualified, and friendly. They are always ready to work with students. They also help their students with phone calls. They are the best teachers.
Other: The connectivity is good. Both bus routes and train routes are available. Everybody must come here and should enjoy the college life here.

Review of Seacom Engineering College.
Placements: It is a very good college for studies, and it also provides the student with better education, better facilities and best faculty members. Placements provided by the college are amazing, and every student gets placed. The college always co-operates with all the students on how to grow, how to behave in industry. It helps a lot. Currently, students are getting placed in the industry.
Infrastructure: The entire campus is Wi-Fi enabled and is provided free for students. We also had a swimming pool and a playground to play football, cricket and others. The central library on the campus had all variety of books, and it helped us a lot as there was no need to buy a book from outside. The college had a hospital where all students health problems were checked at free of cost, and it was the best.
Faculty: Our college management brought knowledgeable professor to give us a better study. There was no need to study from coaching classes. All the professors behaved in a good way, and they always co-operated with all students at any time. They also arrange industrial training to build good behaviour in the industry, and this was a huge difference from other colleges.
Other: I opted for this course because it was my dream to study mechanical engineering, and I am happy to be an engineer. Every year fests were held when a new batch comes. Scholarships are also provided to study at a low rate, and this helped poor students a lot.

College was okay but it could have been better.
Placements: Placements were average during my session. Students got placements mostly in the local companies of west Bengal. Students got average salary of 2.5 Lacs per annum. Students got the roles in the field of sales, production, quality management and maintenance.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was okay. Classes and labs were equipped. Hostel facilities were not provided during my session. There were not much option in canteen. Sports facilities were provided but not much scope of inter or intra-competition. I didn't face any issue of infrastructure.
Faculty: Faculty were okay but some were good though. Teaching quality was average. Students to faculty ratio was okay. There was not much scope of industry exposure. There was lack of the practical teaching methods. Syllabus of course was okay. I was not much satisfied.
Other: There were not much opportunities for extra curricular activities.

The worst college for engineering.
Placements: Placements in this college are not good. Only 15% of the students get placed from the campus as only one company visited here for placements. Last year, the students were not even informed about the date of the interviews. I had a bad experience with placements here.
Infrastructure: The college doesn't provide any Wi-Fi facility, and our principal does not care about students. There is no teacher available in the college, and students have to study on their own. No one will ever think that this is a College. There is only one academic building, but we don't have any classrooms. There are only exam halls and are opened during exams.
Faculty: There is no teacher available in the college. I get trapped after taking admission in this college as there is not even a single teacher available in the mechanical engineering department. I advise everyone not to take admission in this college. You may get the degree here, but you won't get any knowledge.

Absolutely dissatisfied because of not good placement in 2014.
Placements: Placement was not so good. 2014-2015 batch.30% students got job. & The same scenario was for 2013-14 batch. Internship was nt good.20%students got internship from college. Average salary 15000 per month the highest salary 35000 per month the lowest don't know.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure was good. Wi-Fi, labs, classroom, library everything was perfect. Quality of labs & classroom was good. Canteen food was average. Hostel room was okay. But most of the time food was nt available. I don't face any infustracture related problem.
Faculty: Teachers were really helpful, qualified, & knowledgeable. Teaching technique was good. They always supported us. They were co friendly. Lots of teachers were there. Every 50 students there is a teacher. They always support us. Even after the college they helps us.

The trip to Seacom engineering college.
Placements: The placements of the college provide a key opportunity for the students. I won't say it offers full placement opportunity, but if a student is cautious about the career, he/she will surely get placed. Mainly, the college depends on the pool placements, in which a group of colleges participate and organize the placement drive. Renowned companies like TCS, Infosys, Pinnacle, TIL, etc., participate in the drive. So, you need to be focused enough to get selected. It isn't tough but is competitive.
Infrastructure: The college campus is big enough; it is spread across 11-acres of land. Mainly, it has 3 academic buildings. One building is dedicated to the marine department and another one is dedicated to engineering department while the third building is the canteen. The college campus also consists of two large mechanical labs, with almost all mechanical instruments. It has a large playground. The college infrastructure is not very hi-fi but much better than other colleges around.
Faculty: The faculty members are well experienced. The college takes extensive participation in bringing guest lecturers from renowned colleges. I would not say all faculty members are helpful, but some are. The course curriculum is somewhat similar to that of other engineering colleges. The college also has well-organized labs. It follows the syllabus of the MAKAUT university which was formerly known as WBUT. The college has ME, CE, EE, ECE, CSE departments. It has marine engineering as well.
Other: The library is well maintained and you will get almost all the important books necessary for the studies. One problem is that they don't keep count of new books in the stock, means to say, they have less stock of new books. You need to get a required book as soon as possible. Requesting for new books is very easy; keep a request to the principal, and if he/she finds it to be valuable then they will order the book. It has the magazine and newspaper stand as well.

Bad placement for core engineers.
Placements: Placement is not at all good. Only 20% of students get placed. In 2016 the highest package was 6 LPA in 'Think and Learn', the lowest package was 1.8 LPA in Mphasis. There is mostly pool campusing i.e. 4-5 colleges conduct a placement together. If you opt for mechanical engineering and you are a good student, then you will definitely get an IT job but getting a core job is just a dream.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is good. There is no Wi-Fi facility, there are many labs and workshops, classrooms are well-ventilated, sports and games are preferred in good amounts. The quality of food in the canteen is just awesome, but it depends on the contractor which changes periodically. Hostels are only available to marine engineering students. BTech students have arrangements outside the college campus. I personally didn't face any infrastructural related issues during my college tenure.
Faculty: Faculty members are good enough and they are much helpful if asked personally. They are not that knowledgeable but they give you total knowledge of what they have. There is a lack of teachers. Industry exposure is there. 2 training or industrial visits happen from the college and you can also arrange yourself. The course curriculum is useful.

A great college for mechanical engineering students. Great staff. Reasonable tuition fee.
Placements: In our college most of the merit listed students are placed in different companies. Some students are also placed in MNCs like tata automobiles companies. A student must have a percentage of more than 60 to get placement in this college. Companies like Wipro, tata recruited us.
Infrastructure: We have great workshops for our mechanical department. Its the best college for mechanical engineering students. Our staff are great. We have attached hostel with college. We have one of the best cricket ground in college.
Faculty: Our staff are very good. When you come to our branch, this college has great faculty. Ph.D. qualified lecturers are teaching us here. We have sate board technical education curriculum here. We have labs for every subject. We can gain more practical knowledge.
Other: I have chosen this course on my personal interest. But college created more interest to me. The internet facility must improve in college Annual day, freshers and farewell day are the events organised every year.
