The following are the requirements for Siliguri Institute of Technology's B.Tech programme:

• The intermediate (10+2) exam or its equivalent must have been passed by the candidates.
• With mathematics and physics as mandatory disciplines, a minimum of 45% in each subject is needed.
• Additionally, candidates need to have taken one of the following courses: biology, biotechnology, chemistry, or technical vocational courses.
• The minimum score needed for applicants in reserved categories (such as SC, ST, OBC-A, OBC-B, and PwD) in all of the aforementioned topics combined is 40%.
• Candidates must have received at least 30% in the English portion of the "10+2" exam.
• The relevant State or Federal governments must acknowledge the qualifications examination board.

A pass in Class 12 with Physics and Mathematics along with any one of  Chemistry/ Biotechnology /Biology /Computer Science /Computer Application/ Technical Vocational Subject as compulsory subjects with individual pass marks (in both theory and practical wherever applicable) in all the three subjects as stated above in regular class mode with at least 45% aggregate (40% aggregate in case of candidates belonging to reserved category is required to apply for BTech course. Additionally, candidates must have passed Class 12 with English with at least 30% aggregate.

The total tuition fee of BTech ranges between INR 3.93 Lacs and INR 4.84 lakhlakh as per an unofficial source. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee after completion of all the selection rounds to confirm their seats. In case, a candidate is unable to pay the fee within the specified time, his or her admission will stand cancelled. Candidates will also require to pay a registration fee to apply for admission.
