Unknown facts and truth of CIEM.
Placements: Placement is very poor, and students did not get any placement from this college (on Campus). The placement cell is not supportive, and they do not provide any internships. According to the college placement cell, they say 3.5 LPA, but this is not true. No roles offered yet.
Infrastructure: The college provides spacious classrooms and different labs for different branches. Labs are- OS Lab, DBMS, CA, etc. Wi-Fi is available for the students and staff. The library is good, with enough books available for the students. Hostels are not available; students have to stay in PGs/flats near the college. A canteen is available for everyone, but vegetarian students may face difficulties as no separate canteen is available for vegetarian students. There are no medical facilities available; students can go to the nearby hospital (MR Bangur), which is 1.2 km from the college. There is a small campus playground available for students for games and sports.
Faculty: Some of the teachers are really very qualified and knowledgeable, like for Computer Architecture (DBA sir); the quality of teaching is awesome. The syllabus structure is very good, and students can get industry-level knowledge. The course structure for every branch is very nice and well-structured by the University. Semester exams are not that tough. Students can pass the exam if they study for 1 month before the exam. The pass percentage is about 98%.
Other: My batch and course are B. Tech (CSE) 2025 pass-out. I have chosen this course to gain valuable technical knowledge to be a Software Developer. The course structure is very nice, but the teaching method by the teachers is not that good; it should be improved. During my 1st and 2nd year, we have fests and college events on campus only. The campus is connected to the nearby Metro Station, Netaji Metro. Wi-Fi is available for the students.

Everything is good except the placements.
Placements: The only disadvantage of this college is it’s placements. The placements cell is too inactive. Though they bring some startups, but they offer very less salaries and not proper job roles. The students need to find jobs themselves. They have to apply for off-campus placements. The college will only provide a link.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is decent having a huge playground, classrooms and labs which are good. Moreover, the infrastructure is good. The labs are fully AC with the systems upgrading. It has a central library where one can only take books related to the curriculum and not on other topics.
Faculty: The curriculum they follow is absolutely based on MAKAUT. Besides, extra Certificate courses are also provide to up skill. Some faculty members are exceptionally talented and will help you grow not only as an engineering student but also as a human being. The atmosphere is friendly and overall, not as strict like that of other colleges.
Other: The biggest advantage or best thing of this college is the campus life here. I have met the most precious friends here who will ultimately help you grow in life.

Absolutely dissatisfied with the college.
Placements: A very low percentage of students were placed from the passout batch on campus. Even the high-scoring students didn't get placed.
The highest package was 11 LPAs.
On campus, TCS, Cognizant, etc., and off campus, Microsoft, are the top recruiters.
5–6 unpaid off campus internships are offered.
Infrastructure: The labs and library are good, but there is no Wi-Fi, there are no air conditioners in the classrooms, and the heat waves are really devastating.
Canteen food is super unhealthy & low-maintenance. Sports and games are good, but sometimes the students have to contribute on their own for the sports tournaments.
Faculty: Yes, the teachers are good and well qualified.
No, they don't focus that much. But whenever needed, you can go to them personally, & they will definitely solve it.
The exam-checking faculty is very poor; only around 10% students pass. I'm not saying this based on experience .

It is a very good college for study purposes, faculty members, and placements.
Placements: Placements are average. The average salary package offered was 3.65 LPA. Many startup companies visit our college to hire students.
Infrastructure: Our college does not provide hostel facilities. Canteen is very good. Sports are conducted. All seniors are friendly.
Faculty: Faculty members are excellent. Suparna Sengupta mam, the coordinator, is very good. Teachers also conduct physical classes, and you can learn everything from them. A few teachers, like A.S. sir and Suman sir, are very good.
Other: Our campus is ragging-free. We can learn a lot from this college.

This is a good college for students. If students will admit, then they will not regret it.
Placements: The minimum salary package offered is 4.3 LPA. If students are enough good in coding or DSA then they might get an average salary of 32 LPA.
Infrastructure: There is no hostel facility in our college, but students can easily get good PG near our college.
Faculty: Our teachers are helpful in this college. If students want to crack an interview then no one can help them better than themself. Improve students' personality skills and some coding skills. That's it after the 7th semester, there will be a job waiting for them. In our course, there are a lot of teachers who are good enough to teach students. But that depends on students, if they want to learn that this is a good college.
Other: This is a computerized world. So if students will choose CSE then it will be very easy to get a job. If our college gets a foreign lecturer or successful lecturer then it will be helpful for students.

CIEM is a nice college for culture and also for reading.
Placements: It is really a good college. The lowest average package of our college this year is 4.7 LPA and the highest package is 32 LPA. On average 70-80% of students get on-campus placement and the salary was overall 7-8 LPA. This year lots of companies are coming to our college like Wipro, TCS, Infotech, and lots of others as well.
Infrastructure: If you are a friend addict and you want a nice place to stay with everyone then this college is for you. In this college faculty members are really nice but some of them are not as well. But who cares? Who even comes to college for reading? Is the best college to play anything or to be a part of your culture.
Faculty: First, I want to say that if you think that your only need is to pass out and get the degree then you can stay at home and do anything you want but if you want a good YGPA for better company choice then your best coaching centre is your own college.

It is a good college in Kolkata.
Placements: Placements in our college are not up to the mark, and they are not trying to call companies. Most of the students do not get placed, and the students who get placed are in small companies. Not many top companies come to our college. If you see previous placements, it's also bad.
Infrastructure: There are no hostels in the college and you have to live in PGs. You can find PG here and there are many PGS so you won't get into any trouble. The library is good and is well maintained. You can find most of the books here even newspapers are available.
Faculty: Faculty members in our college are very helpful and well-educated. They always try to come up with new ideas to help students mentally. They try to make us comfortable. Internal exams take place regularly, and if you have secured a good record in it, then you don't have to worry.

Review of CIEM - Calcutta Institute Of Engineering & Management.
Placements: In my batch, about 30% of students got placed. Most of the students got placed in big IT MNCs like TCS Cognizant, Capgemini etc. These companies take not only the CS and IT graduates but also the students from other streams. I have no much idea about the number of students who received internships. The packages offered range between 3 LPA to 7 LPA approximately.
Infrastructure: I must say that the overall infrastructure is okay. There is no hostel facility, but you can find many PGS nearby. Accommodation in PGS ranges between 2,000-3,000 per month. There is also a canteen available in college, but the quality of food is not good. But you can find many shops and food courts nearby. Libraries mostly contain old books, but they are big in numbers. There is also a big playground used for many sports like football, volleyball and cricket. As far as in my department, the lab is very well-equipped.
Faculty: Maybe the college infrastructure is average, but the quality of teachers is very good. They are very helpful and knowledgeable. But the curriculum that our college follows is of MAKAUT, which itself is very old. The difficulty level of exams is moderate.
Other: There is only one fest organised during my whole graduation. So, I wish that extracurricular activities are organised regularly.
