SOT PDEU MTech Eligibility & Highlights 2026
SOT Pandit Deendayal Energy University offers two-year MTech programme divided into four semesters. The school offers MTech in eight specialisations at the PG level. The admission to MTech programme will be based on GATE score. Non-GATE candidates can also get admission based on their performance in the personal interview round. SOT PDEU MTech Admission Dates 2026
SOT PDEU conducts admission in two phases. In Phase-I, candidates who have qualified GATE can participate. Aspirants who could not participate in Phase-I or non-GATE candidates can take admission in Phase-II. Find below SOT PDEU admission dates for MTech:

SOT PDEU MTech Admission Process 2026: How to Apply?
SOT Pandit Deendayal Energy University admissions begin with registration. GATE and non-GATE candidates both can participate in admission process for MTech programme. Below is step-wise details to get a seat in SOT PDEU MTech course:
STEP 1: SOT PDEU MTech Application Process
Mode of application is online for all courses. Candidates can apply for more than one branch subject to eligibility. Application fee for each branch is INR 700. Find below all steps to apply for SOT PDEU admission:

- Register and fill application form.
- Upload documents and pay application fee.
STEP 2: Selection Rounds
SOT PDEU admission to MTech course is based on GATE score. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are shortlisted based on their performance in personal interview round. Phase-I of admission is for GATE qualified candidates. Non-GATE-qualified candidates can participate in Phase-II of admission. A candidate who has applied for more than one branch has to appear in personal interview for all respective branches separately
STEP 3: Merit List and Admission Confirmation
University prepares a merit list for GATE qualified and non-GATE qualified candidates based on performance in personal interview round and GATE score. Once selected, candidates need to pay a course fee to confirm their seat in university.

The subject requirement varies specialisation-wise for M.Tech programme. Aspirants applying for M.Tech must hold the documents proving their eligibility for verification at later stages of admission.
In case the candidate cancels his or her admission, the fee is refunded as per the below policy of SOT PDEU:
- If a candidate applies for cancellation of his/ her admission through email/ in-person, the fees
paid shall be refunded after deduction of INR 1,000 as administrative charges, only if such
vacated seat gets filled up the latest by the start of the semester. - Candidates shall be required to submit the original receipt of the fees paid for refund in the
prescribed form.
After completing MTech from SOT PDEU, students are open to ample job opportunities in the market. The job profile opens as per the specialisation studied by the student. Below are some of the job profiles available after completing MTech:

The total fee for SOT PDEU M.Tech is INR 3.25 lakh. This information is sourced from official website/ sanctioning body and is subject to change. Candidates need to pay the programme fee after completion of the selection rounds to confirm their seat in the unviersity. The total fee includes a refundable caution deposit of INR 10,000 and a refundable library deposit of INR 3,000. Apart from the programme fee, aspirants also need to pay an application fee in the start. The application fee is INR 700 for each programme.
