SOT Pandit Deendayal Energy University offers two-year M.Tech programme divided into four semesters. The school offers M.Tech in various specialisations, such as Environmental, Data Science, Cyber Security, etc. The admission to MTech programme will be based on GATE score. Non-GATE candidates can also get admission based on their performance in the personal interview round.

Candidates who have complete a bachelor's degree with at least 50% aggregate or CPI/ CGPA of 5.5 in 10 point scale in the qualifying degree in relevant subjects can apply for SOT PDEU M.Tech course. No, candidates can take admission in M.Tech programme of SOT PDEU without GATE score also. The university accepts admission for non-GATE qualified candidates in Phase-II. However, the application process is common. Candidates who have not qualified GATE are shortlisted based on their performance in the personal interview round. The merit list for such aspirants are prepared based on PI performance. Candidate who has applied for more than one branch has to appear in personal interview for all the respective branches separately

The NTA has released the exam dates for the JEE Main 2026 Session 2. Paper 1 (BE/ BTech) will be administered between April 2, 2026 to April 9, 2026. The Session 2 registration will open in the last week of January. The applicants are requested to fill the application form available on the website jeemain.nta.nic.in.

SOT PDEU BSc curriculum is divided into semester-pattern. Aspirants are required to study core and elective subjects throughout the programme and apart from this, a number of seminars also take place throughout the programme.

Candidates are first required to register for the programme of their choice at SOT PDEU. The school shortlists candidates for most of the courses based on entrance exam scores. SOT PDEU accepts JEE Main or GUJCET for BTech and GATE for M.Tech programmes. Non-GATE qualified candidates are selected based on qualifying exam score and PI round. Besides, SOT conducts written test for MSc and PhD programmes. For BSc admission, both merit and PI round is considered.
