Highlights

  • National Exit Test (NExT) is a combined single-window exam for MBBS students to qualify for admission into postgraduate courses as well as to obtain the license to practice medicine in India. The exam is to be held in two steps to check theoretical and practical knowledge of candidates. Once implemented, NExT will replace multiple exams including NEET PG and FMGE.

Good college to choose amongst deemed universities. Location is peaceful, and environment is decent.
Placements: In MBBS, there's no concept of placements since most students are for NEET PG exam preparation. After finishing their internship, students can work as medical offices in a government hospital or as a junior president in a private hospital. It depends on what a student's future plans are.
Infrastructure: The campus is not even 10 years old, so there's good infrastructure. The college building, hospital, and hostels are all on the same campus, so it's quite convenient. There are good lecture halls with air conditioning, well-equipped labs for practical, and a good clinical setup to practice. The hostel facilities are available with mess.
Faculty: We follow CBME curriculum now. It helps integrate all subjects of medicine along with communication and ethics. The faculty members are well experienced and helpful. There are internal exams every year, following which there's a university exam to go on to the next year. The pass percentage is almost 95%. Those who can't pass in the first attempt can give another exam in a 2-month gap and join the batch.
Other: There are fests every year along with grand celebrations of events like Onam and Ganesh Puja, but there's very little scope for extracurricular activities and sports. There's no space or scope for recreational activities. It can get a bit boring.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q:   Is MSc Nursing a good career?
A:

Yes, because a postgraduate degree in Nursing allows a nurse to work in multispeciality hospitals, private or government healthcare units, academic or research institutes, nursing homes, old-age homes, and the armed services. They can become a nursing educator, staff nurse, nurse assistant, or nursing supervisor.

With many new specialisation streams emerging, there is a demand for qualified nurses who can specialise in these new fields and even teach other students. In India and around the world, there is an ongoing lack of skilled nurses. Because of their devotion and compassionate and empathetic character, Indian nurses are always in high demand in other nations.
