Battery Operated Reusable Mask For Protection From Airborne Human Pathogens Developed By Sunandan Divatia School Of Science

July 7, 2021: The Sunandan Divatia School of Science (SDSOS) has created a mask that protects against airborne human infections. In the presence of the Honorable Chancellor of NMIMS University, Shri. Amrishbhai Patel, Vice-Chancellor, Pro-Vice-Chancellor, Registrar of NMIMS University, and Dean of SDSOS, NMIMS University, the technology is transferred to Milton Group of Pharma Company Mumbai for commercialisation and marketing on June 21, 2021.

Because the disease is ubiquitous in the community during this Covid -19 pandemic, wearing a face mask has become a basic requirement in public settings. Large gatherings, public transportation, offices, schools, and colleges are all places where the infection is quite likely. Regular masks protect against aerogel and big dust particles, but not against the majority of human diseases. In light of the foregoing facts and the virus's pathogenicity, the Sunandan Divatia School of Science (SDSOS), NMIMS University, has designed a one-of-a-kind mask that more effectively offers pathogen protection.

Dr Neetin Desai, Dean of SVKM's NMIMS Sunandan Divatia School of Science, and his colleague Dr Vrushali Joshi, Post-Doctoral Fellow at NMIMS Sunandan Divatia School of Science, created the one-of-a-kind mask. While using a cell phone or headphones, the battery-operated mask is safe to use. A four-layered cotton mask with a metallic mesh that works as an electrical filter was designed. During inhaling and exhaling, microorganisms that come into touch with the mask are promptly destroyed, ensuring the user's complete protection. It's a reusable, self-sterilising, and eco-friendly mask. If used properly, the battery can last up to six months and is removable. The mask is offered online for $800-1000. It will be available in stores starting next week. This mask replaces over 240 ordinary masks, lowering environmental impact and making it eco-friendly.

A good experience overall.

Placements: The university provides placements for the students. An information database is maintained throughout the course (CGPA, internships, etc) to help facilitate the placement process later. The psychology committee at NMIMS has a placement team where students and teachers work together for internships as well as placements. For clinical students, internships are provided at four different places (current batch), including mental hospitals and rehab centers. For 10 students, internships are provided ...

B.Sc. Applied Psychology - The start to your journey in Psychology.

Placements: During the summer internship period, college provided a plethora of internship opportunities to different organizational firms as well as renowned hospitals such as Thane Mental Hospital, Bai Jerbai Hospital Wadia Hospital for Children, and other private mental health clinics as well. Absolutely the worst college and faculty.

Placements: I would not recommend this college because it has no scope for placement and no provisions for a proper placement cell. We will have to search for internships on our own, and there is no formal training provided for them. There is one internship department that generally does not provide more than two or three internships for a batch of 190 students.

Definitely recommended if you're serious about pursuing Psychology.

Placements: The course doesn't offer placements as there are limited opportunities with a Bachelors Degree in Psychology. Most students opt for further studies and support is provided for that. The course does have a compulsory summer internship after 2nd year that gives on-field practical experience to the students.

Bad placements, underqualified faculty, good course structure.

Placements: Not many good opportunities were given, and the system of working was very consistent. As it is a fairly new course, the issue might be due to a lack of connections. It was handled by students rather than teachers, which was really surprising.

Facilities in the college can be improved a little.

Placements: Around 60% of the students got placed. The highest package offered is 7 LPA, and the lowest package offered is 1.5 LPA. Asian Paints, Nivea, Cactus Communication, etc., companies visited the campus. Companies like IPCA, Lupin, BARC, etc., also visit the college. Research associates, QA, QC and scientific writer roles are offered to the students.
