NIE Mysore Admission 2025: Dates, Fee, Application Process, Eligibility

For admission to M.Tech programs at NIE Mysore, the main entrance exam score considered is the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE). However, depending on the situation, other exams might also play a role:

Primary Criteria:

• GATE: Scoring well in GATE is crucial for securing admission to M.Tech at NIE Mysore. The minimum required score varies based on the specific programme and competition level. Aim for a score above the program's cutoff,  which is usually available after the GATE exam results are declared.

NIE Mysore BE fee is INR 2.6 lakh. The fees might include components other than tuition fees.
The BE tuition fee is calculated on the basis of first year. Hence, the actual amount may vary. Aspirants need to pay the course fee after completion of the selection rounds to confirm their seat in the institute. Besides, the programme fee, candidates also need to pay a registration fee in the start of the admission process. 

Yes, SC/ST candidates seeking admission to the National Institute of Engineering Mysore M.Tech programme are offered a relaxation in the eligibility criteria. This relaxation is provided to support students belonging to the underprivileged section of society.

As per the eligibility criteria, candidates belonging to the general category and seeking admission to the M.Tech must have completed a valid UG degree with a minimum of 50% marks. While for students belonging to the SC/ST category, the institute offers a 5% relaxation in the eligibility criteria. Thus, candidates who belong to the aforementioned categories are eligible if they have secured a minimum of 45% marks in aggregate in a bachelor's degree.

The Karnataka PGCET cutoff for M.Tech at National Institute of Engineering Mysore 2023 is yet to be notified.

To get an M.Tech seat offered at the south campus of NIE Mysore, students must present a valid PGCET/GATE score. Apart from this, students must also satisfy the minimum eligibility requirements as stated by the institute. Those who wish the aforementioned requirements must apply for the course by visiting the institute's official website. After submitting the application, students must stay updated with the merit list. If shortlisted, they are required to pay the admission fee to secure their seats.

Direct admission at National Institute of Engineering is possible through management quota. Admissions to B.E courses is done on the basis of COMEDK UGET or KCET followed by a counselling process, and for the M.Tech and M.C.A courses, it is done through the entrance exam- Karnataka PGCET conducted by the Karnataka Examination Authority (KEA).

Karnataka Examination Authority announced the KCET 2025 results online at the official website. The KEA KCET results 2025 was  announced by the Karnataka's Higher Education Minister, Dr. M.C. Sudhakar  on May 24 at press conference. The Karnataka CET result 2025 link for scorecard download will be available on the official website on May 24 from 2:00 pm onwards. KEA KCET results will be available on kea.kar.nic.in and will determine the qualifying status of the candidates. Applicants who appeared in the exam can check their KCET 2025 results through their user ID and password.

NIE Mysore has released the BE cutoffs for the year 2024. As per the latest available data, the closing rank cutoff for the General-All India based on KCET scores ranged from 12747 to 103761. Moreover, the BE course with the highest competition was Electronics and Communication Engineering. Earlier, in 2023, the cutoff for the same category of students ranged from 9018 to 82211.
