Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2025

One of the best colleges in Mysore, if you are willing to do MCA.
Placements: According to my knowledge, in our MCA batch, around 80-85% of students were placed through campus placements. The highest package offered was around 12.4 LPA, while the lowest was 3.5 LPA, and the average package stayed around 5-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, LTIMindtree, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Bosch. Nearly 60% of the students also got internships in companies like TCS, Infosys, startups, and analytics-based organizations, mostly in roles like software development, web development, and testing.
Infrastructure: SJCE provides a very good infrastructure for MCA students. Our department had Wi-Fi-enabled labs, updated computer systems, spacious classrooms, a digital library, and access to the main library with thousands of books and journals. Hostel facilities were decent with clean rooms, study areas, indoor games, and 24/7 security. The mess food was manageable, and the canteen options were better with snacks and meals available throughout the day. The campus also has sports grounds, a health center, gyms, and plenty of greenery, which makes student life comfortable.
Faculty: The faculty members in the MCA department were very supportive, highly qualified, and explained concepts clearly. Most teachers were approachable and helped with projects, coding doubts, and placements. The curriculum is updated and relevant to industry needs, especially with subjects in programming, databases, machine learning, web tech, and project development. Semester exams were of moderate difficulty, and as long as students attended classes and prepared regularly, passing was not very hard. The pass percentage was consistently good.
Other: I chose MCA at SJCE because of its strong reputation, experienced faculty, and placement record. The best part of the course was the hands-on labs, coding-based learning, and helpful teachers. I wish there were more industry-driven workshops, but overall, the learning experience was great. The campus environment, greenery, events, and student community made my time here memorable. It is a very student-friendly college with plenty of extracurricular opportunities.

Good college for engineering.
Placements: Our college placements are pretty fine, with more than 60 percent of students getting placed in their final year. A huge number of companies come for recruitment and offer a good package for students. The minimum package offered is 3 LPA, and the maximum package offered is 55 LPA. TCS is the major recruiter.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent here, and the students have a good environment for studying. A good number of playgrounds are present for sports. I am not a hosteller, so I do not have a good idea about hostels, but its good. Wi-Fi is accessible throughout the college.
Faculty: I am doing mechanical engineering, which I am doing with passion. The management curriculum is excellent, providing an industrial exposure and experience. The exams are easy to score if you concentrate well enough. The lecturers are well qualified and experienced.

I am really satisfied with my college.
Placements: The college placement of the total number of students at a place was about 70%. The company that recruits the highest number of students is TCS. Internship offers were made by Lams Industries and Quest Global. Many other students who have gone for paid internships have been absorbed in the same companies.
Infrastructure: I also live in a hostel that is inside the college, and the food provided is okay, kind of average and the rooms are pretty clean. The Wi-Fi provided here is pretty fast, and there is also a garden, and playgrounds are provided for students to play. And all the labs are well-equipped with new equipment and study materials.
Faculty: In terms of education, our colleges are pretty good. The marks structure is excellent when it comes to the paper evaluation, and the examination will go according to the plan. Teachers are very supportive, and they're ready to give their 100% to the students. Providing excellent resources and things that are helpful for the future. Teachers are very interactive as well as practical and theoretical, giving us better explanations through the demonstration of prototypes.
Other: My course is mechanical engineering, and why I chose is because one of the best colleges in my city and as well as they provide a good practical and theoretical knowledge and having the best college clubs that are completing around all over India. The improvement would be that the study's structure could be even better when it comes to like student subjects and management according to the time period. College fest is excellent in our college, the book international artists so that it can get more student interest and advertisement. They have separate club activities for each department.

The best college in our city.
Placements: There is a dedicated placement and training department in our college which takes care of our placements. The placement for students starts in the 5th semester, and many reputed companies come to our college for recruitment. More than 65 percent of the final-year students get placed every year.
Infrastructure: The college has facilitated two hostels for students, our hostel has good facilities and Wi-Fi. The course here is academically excellent, providing good technical domain knowledge to students. Our college has the best infrastructure in the city, it has several playgrounds, labs with the latest instruments etc.
Faculty: The faculty of our department are very friendly and helpful, they assist us in all matters. The exams here are held in a very strict manner, and students are to adhere to strict rules, else the students will be fined and punished if they are proven guilty.

A good college with a lot of potential.
Placements: The median placement for the 2025 batch is above 10 LPA. The highest is 56 LPA. Most students who are placed receive offers after their internships. The percentage of students placed is more than 25%. Even companies like Google and Microsoft recruit from this college.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure for the Computer Science and ISE departments is good. The college lacks a good auditorium and swimming pool, but overall the campus gives a kind of NIT vibe. The classrooms in the CS department are good. The cricket and football grounds are great. There are many canteens on the campus.
Faculty: Faculty is good, better than most private colleges in Bangalore. The curriculum for CSE is outdated. If you want a good curriculum, then the best course is CSBS. I have still not given any semester-end exams, but the CIEs are easy. Overall, the first year is not hectic.
Other: In COMEDK, this college is fourth after the top three (RV, MSRIT, BMS). In terms of college life, it is the best among the top COMEDK colleges.

The learning environment is good, with supportive faculty members and growing opportunities.
Placements: The placement rate for the CSE branch is approximately 80–85 percent. Several reputed companies offer niche and specialized software development roles. For the 2025 batch, the highest package is 48 LPA. The average and median packages are 12-9 LPA, respectively. Overall, the seniors are satisfied with placements. They are polite and helpful.
Infrastructure: Labs are well-equipped, but the Wi-Fi connectivity could be improved. It is often buggy and has limited coverage. As some areas of the campus have poor mobile connectivity. Students are not provided with a college email ID. While the campus is not very tech-advanced, it is still better than most colleges in Karnataka. The library is decent. Hostel accommodation is very limited, and despite applying, we are not allotted any. The administration does not show much concern, so we have to find PG accommodations ourselves. Sports and games are enjoyable, the campus is spacious, and the canteens are good. I have no information about the hostel food.
Faculty: Teachers are helpful. Most hold PhDs. The teaching quality is good overall, with only a few exceptions. In my opinion, the CSBS curriculum is excellent, and unlike CSE, it does not include subjects like Chemistry and EGD. Had I known earlier, I would have chosen CSBS.
Other: I chose this course because of my strong interest in coding and computer science. Faculty members are knowledgeable, and our HOD is very supportive. There are many technical clubs, which make learning enjoyable. If the CSBS curriculum is implemented, it will be perfect. The campus is improving and now admits students through COMEDK, attracting a diverse and competitive crowd. Scholarships are not available for male general category students under COMEDK. There are plenty of extracurricular activities if you take the initiative. Mysore, being peaceful and academically focused, is a great place to study.
