I personally don't hate the faculty members. Some are good, and some are bad.
Placements: About 70-80% of students get placed. The highest this year is about 40-45 LPA, and the lowest was about 3 LPA. The average came out to be 11-12 LPA, with top recruiters being Morgan Stanley, Cisco, JP Morgan, and more banking firms. Top roles are SDE, data analyst, data scientists, and even management roles.
Infrastructure: Wi-Fi doesn't work most of the time in the hostel, labs still use really old equipment, classrooms are just typical of a school, and the library is the only decent place. Hostel food is as bad as it gets, not just in taste but also in quality and even quantity (won't give more than 2 chapatis). Medical facilities are scarce. Sports facilities, though, aren't half bad.
Faculty: Teachers are mostly knowledgeable and qualified, except for a few who think they own the college. The syllabus in the first year is heavily outdated. The college has legacy placements mostly, and the curriculum doesn't help at all, in my opinion. Sem exams aren't hard to pass.

Good for people who want more time outside of college
Placements: In the CSE course, about 80% students got placed in the last batch of our department. The highest package is about 48 LPA. The average is between 10 and 12 LPA. The lowest is 3.2 LPA. Top recruiters are Morgan Staley, Akamai, TCS, and Infosys. About 20 to 30% of students get a paid internship. Top roles include Software developer engineer 1, Product manager, and Marketing team member.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are quite good. As first-year students, we are allotted the old Polymer Science department building, which is indeed an old building, but the newer buildings are high-tech and well-maintained. Wi-Fi is good, but not so strong inside the classrooms. We have a big library with good ventilation. As for hostel food, it is manageable, and we are given all the sports facilities, and the hospital is within the campus.
Faculty: Teaching quality is quite good, and most of the faculty members are well-known and experienced in the field. The course curriculum is not so industry-ready, as in the AI era, we are betrayed by the Python language, which is necessary today. Semester exams are not so easy as the evaluators are very strict in this case.
Other: I chose this course since I wanted to study in Mysuru. The best thing about my course would be the class timings, as we have plenty of time to learn different things. A slight improvement in the curriculum by adding AI subjects from the first year may improve the course. They conduct one of Karnataka's biggest fests. The campus is big and well-connected to the city. Extracurricular activities include clubs and events that are organised.

Campus life is good, placements are great, and infrastructure is very nice.
Placements: 80% of students get placed on our campus, and the highest is 15 LPA, and the lowest is 2 LPA. The top recruiting companies are BMW and Mercedes. Around 60% of students will get internships in top companies like BMW. Designing is the top role offered, and also fabrication.
Infrastructure: We have all the infrastructure in our college, including Wi-Fi, classrooms, libraries, and a reference room. It is really calm to study in the reference room and library. The quality of food can be improved in the hostel. Sports and games are good; we have various games to play.
Faculty: Teachers are friendly and approachable, not all, but many. Most of them are extremely knowledgeable, and they will teach us in a very systematic way so that we can understand. Semester exams are easy, as we have all the notes required, and the pass percentage is high.
Other: I opted for this course because placements for girls are high, and nothing else is good. Many events will be happening on the campus.

Review of Sri Jayachamarajendra College of Engineering, JSS STU.
Placements: Good companies do come for placements, and it is the single best pro of this college. This year, the average package offered is around 11 LPA, with CSE leading in terms of employment and the highest package. The number of companies coming for internships is good. An ample chance is given for students to get internships.
Infrastructure: The hostel is dirty and neglected. Cleanliness does not exist for the warden. Our college lab facilities are decent and well-equipped. Notably, the golden jubilee block is the best out of all. Sports facilities are good since the college is huge. An in-house gym is available too, which is free for the college students.
Faculty: The course curriculum is outdated, and it is even mentioned by one of our recruiters on campus. This is common among many engineering colleges in India. Teachers are a mixed bag. Some teachers are good, but some are absolutely average. There is no form of accountability available for the quality of teachers offered by the college.
Other: It is a good and affordable option with a good return on investment, so I chose this course. The food can be a challenge for students who are not accustomed to South Indian food. Fests happen once every 2 years, but it's worth it. The technical clubs are good. Although there is a scarcity of non-technical clubs. This is quickly changing as the number of students in each batch is increasing.

Review of JSS Science and Technology.
Placements: I am not in my final year, so I cannot talk about my placements, but the placements of my seniors are going on right now, and 210 students have been placed and about 190 companies have visited. Although this number will grow because the placement season is still going on. The median package you can expect from this college if you are in the CSE branch is about 8 LPA but if you work a little hard, then you can get 13 LPA to 20 LPA, it all depends on you.
Infrastructure: There is Wi-Fi, a library, big playgrounds, multiple canteens, labs, and the area of the whole campus is 104 acres. There is a lot of greenery as well, so I would say the infrastructure is good. There is a gym that is free, and there is a big cricket ground, a football ground, and a basketball court. There are a lot of places where you can hang out with your friends, and the classrooms have projectors.
Faculty: Faculty is nice, cooperative, and well-educated. The curriculum is the same as that of any other college and unchanged from the old one. The teachers do tend to say some important things in Kannada otherwise, the whole lecture is in English. There are multiple clubs in which you can participate. There is one thing that I don't like about this college, and that is its strictness regarding attendance. You don't get a lot of days off here, but this is a subjective flaw.
Other: There is a shortage of hostel rooms inside the campus, so there is an outside campus hostel called the Shivratri hostel, and even after that, some students don't get a room there, also showing they have to live in PG outside campus. This only happens in 1st year because all the students of 2nd year and higher get a hostel room. Since they have increased the intake this year, this is happening. If you take admission early, you don't have to worry about any of this.

Master of Computer Applications (MCA) - Batch of 2025

4.0Placements5.0Infrastructure4.0Faculty4.0Crowd & Campus Life4.0Value for Money
One of the best colleges in Mysore, if you are willing to do MCA.
Placements: According to my knowledge, in our MCA batch, around 80-85% of students were placed through campus placements. The highest package offered was around 12.4 LPA, while the lowest was 3.5 LPA, and the average package stayed around 5-6 LPA. Top recruiting companies included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, LTIMindtree, Accenture, Capgemini, Cognizant, and Bosch. Nearly 60% of the students also got internships in companies like TCS, Infosys, startups, and analytics-based organizations, mostly in roles like software development, web development, and testing.
Infrastructure: SJCE provides a very good infrastructure for MCA students. Our department had Wi-Fi-enabled labs, updated computer systems, spacious classrooms, a digital library, and access to the main library with thousands of books and journals. Hostel facilities were decent with clean rooms, study areas, indoor games, and 24/7 security. The mess food was manageable, and the canteen options were better with snacks and meals available throughout the day. The campus also has sports grounds, a health center, gyms, and plenty of greenery, which makes student life comfortable.
Faculty: The faculty members in the MCA department were very supportive, highly qualified, and explained concepts clearly. Most teachers were approachable and helped with projects, coding doubts, and placements. The curriculum is updated and relevant to industry needs, especially with subjects in programming, databases, machine learning, web tech, and project development. Semester exams were of moderate difficulty, and as long as students attended classes and prepared regularly, passing was not very hard. The pass percentage was consistently good.
Other: I chose MCA at SJCE because of its strong reputation, experienced faculty, and placement record. The best part of the course was the hands-on labs, coding-based learning, and helpful teachers. I wish there were more industry-driven workshops, but overall, the learning experience was great. The campus environment, greenery, events, and student community made my time here memorable. It is a very student-friendly college with plenty of extracurricular opportunities.
