University Institute of Engineering & Technology (UIET) is an engineering college affiliated with Panjab University. The institute is recognised by the AICTE and located in Chandigarh. JAC Delhi 2026 counselling will start in May. The entire counselling schedule is hosted on the official website of JAC Delhi 2026. Joint Admission Counselling (JAC) process for undergraduate admissions in engineering programs in Delhi, is conducted by the participating institutes themselves. JAC Delhi is a collaborative effort of four engineering institutes in Delhi, namely Delhi Technological University (DTU), Indira Gandhi Delhi Technical University for Women (IGDTUW), Indraprastha Institute of Information Technology Delhi (IIIT-D), and the Netaji Subhas University of Technology (NSUT, formerly known as NSIT). The admission process for MTech programs at UIET is based on the candidate’s GATE score and performance in the qualifying examination.

Preference is given to GATE-qualified candidates for all courses. Candidates with at least 60% marks in the qualifying examination will be given admission if seats remain vacant after GATE-qualified candidates’ admission.

In conclusion, GATE is the mandatory entrance exam to get admission to MTech at UIET.

Panjab University offers Topper Scholarship of BE students of UIET Chandigarh. The scholarship is awarded to each of the toppers of university examination in each branch of first, second and third year of BE courses. Selected students receive INR 1,000 for 10 months.

UIET does not offers any Master of Business Administration program. However, it offers five-year integrated Bachelor of Engineering (chemical)-Master of Business Administration course. A total of 56 seats are available for the five-year integrated Bachelor of Engineering (chemical)-Master of Business Administration course.

Aspirants are first required to fill out the application form for the respective exam. The inter-se merit of the candidates for BE admission will be determined on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) obtained in JEE Main followed by JAC Counselling. For lateral entry, PULEET is conducted by the university for admission. UIET selects aspirants for ME/ M.Tech courses based on GATE score. Non-GATE candidates can also get admission based on their merit in the last qualifying exam.

Admissions in UIET for B.E. courses will be made on the basis of JEE (Main) All India Rank (AIR). There will be three rounds of online counselling followed by one last SPOT round of online counselling. Only the registered candidates will be able to participate in these rounds of counselling. So only 12th marks are not enough for admission in BE courses.
