UIET Chandigarh BTech Eligibility & Highlights 2025
UIET Chandigarh offers four-year BE course divided into eight semesters. The institute offers BE in six specialisations such as Computer Science Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, etc.
Admission to UIET Chandigarh BE course is based on JEE Main score followed by JAC Chandigarh Counselling. Besides, Panjab University also conducts PULEET for lateral entry admission. The institute provides lateral entry to BE courses. Interested candidates can check below UIET Chandigarh BE eligibility criteria:
- Candidates must pass Class 12 or equivalent with five subjects, namely Hindi, English, Punjabi or any other language and Physics, Mathematics or any one of Chemistry/ Biology/ Biotechnology/ Technical Vocational Subject to apply for UIET BE.

For BE (Lateral Entry)
- Candidates should have passed Diploma in Engineering of minimum three or two years duration with Physics and Mathematics with at least 60% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD) to apply for BE (LE).
- Aspirants who have completed DVoc stream from Polytechnic college with at least 60% aggregate (50% aggregate for SC/ ST/ BC/ PwD) to apply for BE (LE).

The UG course aspirants must check out the eligibility criteria before proceeding with the admission formalities. UIET Chandigarh admissions include registrations, selection, counselling and seat allotment. Candidates have to go through all the steps to get a seat in the institute. STEP 1: UIET Chandigarh BE Application Process 2025
Candidates need to fill out the PULEET application form for BE (Lateral Entry). Aspirants applying for BTech must first fill out the JEE Main application form followed by JAC Counselling. Aspirants are required to provide their preference for institute in the counselling round. The applicants shall ensure that the details provided in the application are correct and as per the official documents.
STEP 2: Selection
The inter-se merit of the candidates for BE admission will be determined on the basis of All India Rank (AIR) obtained in JEE Main 2025 only, except in the Sports Category and the Defence Category. For lateral entry, PULEET is conducted by the university for admission.
STEP 3: Counselling and Seat Allotment
After completion of the selection rounds, BE candidates have to participate in JAC Counselling and provide their preferred institute. The university releases a merit cum rank list for PULEET candidates. Aspirants are required to pay the course fee to confirm their seat in the institute.

Yes, summer training is a part of UIET BE Electronics and Communication curriculum. The institute conducts two weeks summer training. The students will undergo a mandatory “Summer Training” of two weeks in their respective departments after their second semester exams. It will be non-credited mandatory course, the result of which (satisfactory/unsatisfactory) will be reflected in their second semester mark sheet.
