Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology Dehradun was established in 2002. It was founded by Uttaranchal Progressive Educational Society. It is affiliated to HNB Garhwal University Srinagar (Garhwal) and Sri Dev Suman Uttarakhand University (SDSUV), . Its is approved by the Government of Uttarakhand. Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology awards various scholarships to meritorious and economically weak students. A part of of Uttaranchal College of Science and Technology scholarships is offered under the name of Mukesh Sawhney Memorial Scholarship for postgraduate students which proposes Rs 5,000 per month each to two most eligible students. The scholarship is awarded post completion of their respective courses. The College reserves seats in each programme for SC, ST, defense/ paramilitary personnel and handicapped candidates as per the norms laid down by the Government of India (constitutional commitment of India).

The selection process for B.Sc and the minimum CUET score required depend on the admission process of the university. However, according to the data available, the minimum CUET score required for admission to B.Sc courses in Central Universities is 480 out of 800. Candidates must have obtained a minimum of 30% score in any one language of List A in CUET. The passing mark in CUET for Section II - Domain-Specific Subjects will be over 120 marks. The CUET minimum passing marks for Section III - General Aptitude Exam will be more than 120 marks. Candidates must meet the Central Universities’ qualifying standards to apply for and take the CUET.
