The reality of VJTI college.
Placements: Top roles offered are product manager, assistant manager, quality engineer, etc. In companies like Siemens, Bosch, Godrej, L&T, etc. 90-100 percent of students get a 6-month internship, which is compulsory. The highest package is 18 LPA and the lowest is 2.5 LPA. Different other companies also recruit here however, to get into the top ones, around 8 CGPA plus is required. It's quite difficult as well to score. Around 80 percent of students get placed every year. Companies like Morgan Stanley, Godrej, L&T, Bosch, Tata Power, Blue Star, etc., recruit students every year in production engineering.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is old, but classrooms aren't, since the renovation. Wi-Fi is available only in libraries and certain areas. New canteen is developed. Hostels are very old, mess quality is good, medical facilities are available for both men and women. Huge grounds for sports.
Faculty: Teachers are highly qualified with M.Tech and PhD degrees. They're helpful. Some are not. Internship makes students industry-ready. Exams are difficult. The pass percentage is 60-80 percent depending on the subject. Holds are helpful. Staff is great. However, studying is important to pass since it's not that easy.
Other: Crowd is mostly Maharashtrians. It's a find your type of crowd college. I think they should improve the infrastructure more, lift facilities, sitting area, etc. The course is great, and the faculty is knowledgeable about many things. Events and fests happen every year. The campus is great, and connectivity is excellent with a prime area of Matunga, with a station and different areas nearby.

The reality of college VJTI.
Placements: The percentage placed in production engineering is around 62 percent. The maximum package is 16 LPA and the minimum is 2.5 LPA. The top recruiting companies are L&T, Siemens, Bosch, Tata Power, Blue Star, etc. Nearly 90-100 percent of students secure internships due to a 6-month compulsory internship for the degree and by companies like Siemens, Godrej, and L&T. Top roles like Supply Chain Analyst, Product Manager, Assistant Manager, Quality Engineer, etc., are offered by the companies.
Infrastructure: The hostel facilities are not that great since it's a very old college with old infrastructure. However, the college building looks old from the outside, but the classes have been developed with all facilities like AC, smart board, etc. Wi-Fi facilities are only available in libraries and specific classrooms. Libraries are great for studying or reading. The new canteen has already been developed. Coming towards the hostel again, the food and mess is great, no such hygiene issues are there. Medical facilities are available with both female and male doctors available. There are huge grounds for games or sports.
Faculty: The teachers are great, some help a lot, and some do not. All the teachers are highly qualified most of them holding PhDs, even from IITs. Lab assistants sometimes do not help much. The attendance criteria are 75 percent quite compulsory. However, you need to study quite well to pass the exams since they're not very easy and maintain a good reputation since most of the marks depend on TA. It has a 6-month compulsory internship, which, however makes students industry-ready. The pass percentage is around 80 percent, which differs and can be 60 percent depending on the subject.
Other: Production Engineering covers the base of Mechanical Engineering, whereas it also has Supply Chain Management, which prepares students for industry work. A-Z work of how a product is manufactured is covered in this course. Starting from the material to be chosen, all the factors needed, machine maintenance, quality checks, and final finishing, everything needs to be assisted by a Manufacturing engineer, also called a production engineer. Core industrial work has to be done from the ground up. The best thing is the exposure to how everything works. The overall experience instead of just focusing on some core part. Knowledge about many things is obtained. The crowd is mostly Maharashtrians, that is, the Marathi side. Events take place every year, like Pratibimb, Rangawardhann, Cell, Technovanza, Enthusiasm, etc. They're all amazing. However, nepotism works over here, and referrals are mostly selected to lead anything. Different scholarships are available to apply for. The campus has a garden, squad area, study area, etc. The college is in the main South area of Mumbai with a land size of around 18 acres. It has great connectivity to Kings Circle, Wadala Station, and Matunga Station nearby.

Good placements, supportive faculty, and active campus life.
Placements: I am from the B.Tech Electrical Engineering (2023–27 batch). In my course, around 70–75% of students got placed in the previous batch. The highest package was around 12 LPA, the average was around 4.5 LPA, and the lowest was around 2.5 LPA. Top recruiters included TCS, Infosys, Wipro, L&T, and a few core companies like Siemens. About 60% of students also got internships in companies such as Tata Power and Bosch. The top roles offered were graduate engineer trainee, software engineer, and junior design engineer.
Infrastructure: The college has well-maintained classrooms, projectors, and good Wi-Fi in labs and the library. Labs are updated with the equipment needed for electrical engineering experiments. The library is big with digital access, too. Hostel rooms are decent with proper ventilation, water supply, and 24/7 security. The mess food is average but hygienic. Sports facilities like cricket and football grounds, badminton, and indoor games are available. Medical facilities are also provided on campus.
Faculty: Teachers are well-qualified, many with PhDs and research backgrounds. They are helpful and encourage practical learning. The curriculum is updated and industry-oriented, especially with subjects related to EVs and renewable energy. Semester exams are moderate in difficulty; if you attend classes regularly and prepare, you can easily pass. The pass percentage is usually above 80–85%.
Other: I chose electrical engineering because of my interest in electric vehicles. The best part is the practical exposure and industry talks arranged by the department. I hope the college adds more core company placements and improves hostel food quality. Overall, the campus life, events, and scholarships make the journey rewarding.

Strong academics, good exposure, and lively campus life at VJTI by Prabhu.
Placements: In the textile technology course at VJTI, around 65 to 75% of those women are generally placed through the campus and off-campus opportunities. Highest package offered in recent years has been around 8 to 10 LPA, with the average salary lying in the range of four to five, with the lowest package around 2.5 LPA. Some of the companies that visit are Reliance Textile and Century Enka.
Infrastructure: Textile Technology Department of College is well-equipped with specialized laboratories such as pinning, weaving, dyeing, printing, and textile testing labs, which provide students with hands-on industry-level exposure. The classrooms are spacious and fitted with projectors, and Wi-Fi is available across the campus.
Faculty: The faculty in the Textile Technology department at VJTI are highly qualified, experienced, and supportive, with many holding PhDs and having strong research as well as industry backgrounds. They are approachable and helpful in clarifying doubts, and their teaching quality is generally good.
Other: I chose textile technology at this college because of the institute's strong reputation, well-established department, and the wide scope of the textile industry offered in terms of both core technical and management opportunities. The best part about the course is balance between theory and practical experience, students get to work with well-equipped facts and games, hands-on screening that directly commits to industry practice.

Great college, one of the best.
Placements: Placements are really good. There is not a single day when the Training and Placement office is empty. Once the placement season starts in August, companies offering really good packages keep coming until the end of July. If you are good at what you like and what the companies demand, you are sure to get a job.
Infrastructure: Being a government institute, there is not much you can expect. The funds are not used where they should be. Most of the funds are used to pay the salaries of the contractual faculty. However, there are a few world-class laboratories where quality work is done. Most of these labs are industry-backed and are supported well by the institute.
Faculty: There are a lot of opportunities students get in various forms. The exam schedules are such that students get enough time between semesters to do some extra things. Most of the students prefer doing an internship, with a few getting them on campus as well. There is more focus on independent study.

Best for placements, one of the top colleges for a reason.
Placements: You need at least 80% to get in. The minimum would be 6 LPA, but it could scale up to 13-20 LPA for companies like Tata, Infosys, etc. Currently, we are all interns at companies like Central Railway, BEST, Accord Electro Technics, TIFR, etc. The top roles offered are representative, event manager, and club representative.
Infrastructure: All classrooms and some sitting areas have Wi-Fi, and the network strength is very good. The library also has Wi-Fi, and it's vast—you can find any book you want from diploma to degree level. The sitting area is large and appears quite premium, I guess. The hostel is also very good and clean. The mess offers tasty meals, and the rooms are quite nice. For sports and games, the hostel ground is very large and well-maintained. We also have a gymkhana offering games like carrom, chess, and table tennis.
Faculty: The staff is very friendly and helpful, and all of them are experts in their fields. So, the lectures are easy to understand as long as you stay attentive. The curriculum is well balanced, providing good theoretical and practical experience, preparing us for the industry. Plus, we are required to do a two-month internship, which gives us even more practical and on-field knowledge.
Other: I opted for this course because I was genuinely interested in electronics as a field and subject. The best part is that we are taught essential computer languages. To be honest, nothing else comes to mind. Events are quite lively—they are managed by students from the cultural clubs and are very energetic. The campus crowd is super helpful and friendly, especially if you are new and need assistance. The campus itself looks quite historic because of how old the college is. You can get a bunch of scholarships based on your score, and extracurricular activities are good.
