Overall it is satisfactory but you can't expect a world class facilities.
Placements: It was by far the best. Approximately more than 90%placed. The highest approximately 13-14 LPA. Hdfc, tata motors, tata steel, walmart, tata power, Hero motto corp, Aarti Industries limited, Jubilant, Cadilla, Reliance Industries, Reliance Retail, Vedanta, Taj hotels, Icici bank, Lixil, volvo eicher, etc. Roles- Corp Hr and IR. Internship- everyone placed. Yes there is a placement cell.
Infrastructure: Basketball court, library, Wi-Fi, canteen, classrooms available. Single classroom allotted to students where professors come and teach. The food available at canteen is average. Boys hostel is pretty far. You can make good use of library as there are two library available.
Faculty: Professors were helpful at all times but somewhat a school setting but it's good for maintaining decorum. PowerPoint and case studies are used. Industry exposure is quite helpful. Though PowerPoint may skmetime seem useless but it also sometimes is useful. Though to get yourself helped you need to study on your own.

XISS is worth the money. It has excellent placements at the end of the year.
Placements: The placement rate of the current batch (2019) was almost 82%, which was way better than last year, which was around 67%. Almost 62 students out of 75 in our batch got placed. Companies like Taj Group of Hotels, Tata Steel, Tata Motors, Hero Motocorp, Tata Powers, Siesta Hotels, Cadillac Pharmaceutical, Jubilant, Sambandh, Alembic Pharma, Godrej, Vedanta, HDFC, ICICI, ICICI Lombard, Aarti Industries, Reliance Industries, Reliance Retail, HIL, Coromandel group, Volvo Eicher, etc., visited our campus for placements. The highest salary package offered by ITC and HZL was 13 LPA. The average salary package offered was 5-6 LPA. Tata Steel, Maruti, HZL and ITC were some companies that offered PPOs.
Infrastructure: XISS has a decent infrastructure. The college provides a basketball court, auditorium, parking lawn, cafeteria, conference rooms, music room etc. Each classroom is well equipped with a projector and air-conditioners. Each floor has a good Wi-Fi connection with good internet speed, which can be used for any classwork, presentation etc. XISS provides a developed computer lab which is well maintained.
Faculty: The department of human resource management is the flagship department of XISS. This is because of the salary packages received by the students each year in final placements. With the modified course curriculum, the core subjects are taught here with other electives as well. Interdisciplinary subjects are also taught. Business communication classes make each student become vocal and learn the aura of public speaking. HRM has well-rooted fieldwork whereby the students visit various centres and work or teach over there. This is a part of the course curriculum.
Other: XISS is located in the centre of Ranchi. It is well connected to other areas of Ranchi. It has an enthusiastic crowd. With its annual fest Panache, students are overcharged, and they participate in it wholeheartedly. It also conducts a basketball tournament.

Review of XISS - Xavier Institute of Social Service.
Placements: Placements in our college are fairly good. The average salary package offered was 6 LPA. If students have good capabilities, then they can get a good salary package also. However, students should be knowledgeable and hardworking here in order to make sure to get placed in reputed companies with a good salary package.
Infrastructure: Lack of infrastructure in our college as there are no more proper computer labs and Wi-Fi works only sometimes. Medical facilities were not available in the college, and there was no proper place for sports. Classrooms are also small for the students.
Faculty: Faculty are fairly good. The course curriculum is good, but it needs to be improved as per the current scenario, and new subjects need to be included as per the requirements of the industry, and also more diverse topics need to be included.
Other: The college organises annual fest called Panache.

Faculty and placements are good, but I am dissatisfied with the infrastructure.
Placements: Placements for PGDM-HRM are quite good. Big brands like ITC, Maruti, ICICI, ICICI Lombard, HDFC, Taj Group, Tata Steel, Walmart, and many more companies visited the campus. The highest salary package offered so far was 12.50 LPA, and it was offered by Tata Steel. The highest stipend offered during SIP was 1.2 lacs per month by Flipkart.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure of our college is not that good. There is no campus as such. However, there are gym and parking facilities. Classrooms and canteens are also not up to the mark. Wi-Fi and labs are also not that good, and so are the medical facilities. We don't have any infirmary on the campus, and neither do we have any game rooms. The quality of food available in the canteen is satisfactory. There is no hostel facility.
Faculty: Faculty members and course curriculum are the things that make this institute unique among the top B-schools, especially when it comes to PGDM-HRM. This college is known for its IR inputs. But when it comes to case studies, they must be increased.
Other: There are a lot of events organised by the college like IR Conclaves, Debates, Annual fest and various seminars.

A short review about XISS highlighting the experience, its pros and cons.
Placements: More than 90% students from Marketing and Rural Management got placed in my batch and the same was for their seniors too. HRM didn't receive good placements in my batch nor in my senior batch. The average was 70% which is quite low for the flagship department of XISS. Although the number is convincing for summer placements.
Infrastructure: XISS doesn't boast of nice infrastructure. It's a pretty old reputed college which started its inception since 1955. Although the classrooms are well-equipped with ACs, Wi-Fi and projectors. The labs and library are functional. The cafeteria also serves good food and snacks. Overall it's a state of art structure which gives a aesthetic feeling for good conducive environment for studies.
Faculty: Overall the faculty members are qualified and knowledgeable. The quality of teaching is satisfactory and can be improved for few subjects. The core subjects of HRM should be taught from the first 2 trimesters itself so that the students can do well in internships. The core subjects should't be an option rather be a mandate for the students to study. However, labour law was and will be the best taught subject in XISS.
Other: XISS conducts its annual fest "Panache" in a grand way for 3 days. It attracts a huge crowd with its elegance and grandeur. Also, it conducts annual sports, fresher's and other extra curricular activities.

We have the best return on investment and a huge alumni base.
Placements: The placements are pretty good. HR department is the best in terms of the average package receive,d and even the others are good enough. The average package offered to us was around Rs. 8.5 LPA (HR department) and our juniors were offered around Rs. 9.5 LPA. One thing, XISS doesn't propagate or promise cent percent placement but does promise to give ample opportunities to earn the best available job.
The companies from FMCG, PSUs, automobile, telecom, manufacturing, corporate banking, agro, social sectors, NGOs, CSRs, NBFC, microfinance, investment banking, financial firms, pharmaceutical companies etc., come down for the placements in both summer and finals. PPO scheme is also offered. The students join at the various levels like assistant manager, deputy manager, manager, etc., with exposure at corporate HQ and plant level. the highest salary offered in the last year was somewhere around Rs. 16 LPA to Rs. 17 LPA and for our batch, it was Rs. 14 LPA. The lowest salary offered was somewhere around Rs. 5 LPA, but then even that has a positive ROI. For the internship, its the responsibility of the college to get all the students placed, but if you have your priority, you have the option to opt out. But you have many good MNCs which offer a very good stipend and also PPOs if you successfully complete your project in allotted two months. There is a placement cell where the students are also a part of the team under the faculty and the alumni's guidance and assistance. It is an efficient cell.
If you work hard and be serious for yourself, then you will get the best of the best jobs in the industry. So it is on the students how well they grab the opportunities provided by the college. In the end, all of us will get placed, but what matters is how smartly you grab the opportunities. There are many companies which offer packages above Rs. 10 LPA. So you need to work for it.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is a little less in rating here. It may not have that big a campus but has all the necessary facilities on the campus for doing an MBA course since six decades. The classes are AV equipped. You have a library, a canteen, music rooms, a sports field, interview rooms, common rooms, etc. It has plans for expansion shortly, and the new upcoming campus will be much bigger with much more facilities and other infrastructure.
Faculty: The faculty members are good, and the course curriculum has exposure to both academics and the industry. It has the industrial as well as the rural visits, retreats and camps. All the courses have a well researched and industry accepted subject, and they do revise it. HR and RM are one of the best courses offered by our institute in all of India. Both of these courses are among the top 10 full-time courses offered in India. Other courses like marketing and finance are also good and comparatively new and doing very good over the years. HR and RM have one of the best alumni resources that any institute has in India. You will find its alumni in top notch positions in all major companies in and around India and abroad as well. XISS has a unique thing since 1955, it's social service field-visits for the students have given them the exposure to learn the human nature and to be grounded. This has an exposure to be and learn together with people from the lower economic section, physically incapable people, children who cant see or hear (deaf and dumb school), handicapped children, government school slums, etc. You also become the guide, friend and teacher for such students and get more to learn apart from your classroom learning. You have separate marks allocated for the extracurricular activities and social service activities. XISS believes in nurturing the professionals with a difference, both men and women and giving back to the society.
Other: Events &Extracurricular activity: Panache is the annual fest happens every year in Feb, which is a 3-4 day festival organised by the students. One day you have a guest band performing. Imp events in there Politico Mania, Scavengers, Fashion show, Mr.& Miss Panache, Sur Sangram, Battle of Bands, DJ Nights, Dance & singing competitions, Marathon etc. Quiz competitions are also organised. The management and B-school competition events are organised by esteemed clubs like Obscura and Embark, XCEED, etc. The alumni meet such as a) Nostalgia for HR alumni, b) Confluence, c) alumni meet for another department like RM, IT, finance and market. d) City chapters alumni meet is conducted every year in Delhi, Bangalore, Calcutta, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, etc., 5) Conferences, 6) Sports fest are also organised. There is campus crowd, Cosmo crowd, from all around the country. HR crowd is the best though. Other departments also have a good crowd. Regarding connectivity, the college is located in the heart of the city. So no issues related to connectivity. Ranchi is well connected by air, rail, and road as well. It has daily flights from Kolkata, Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Patna and other cities. The campus surrounding are just adjacent to St. Xavier's College and at Ranchi main road you have many chillout joints, malls, cinema halls nearby. They are well connected to major tourist spots near Ranchi (waterfalls and valleys). There are students clubs and associations such as Obscura, Embark, XCEED, Finnacle, sports club, CASC, AAXISS, AXISS, HRfix, MAXISS (official Band).

An excellent institute with good placements, faculty and infrastructure.
Placements: The placements are good, and college placement team is also very helpful and ensures that there is 100 percent placement. We were lucky batch, the maximum number of companies turned up for placements for our batch. The companies like Hero Motocorp, BPCL, Vedanta, HUL, SAB Miller and Godrej etc., came for placement for our batch. The students were offered for roles in corporate industries.
Infrastructure: The college has good infrastructure and has a library which has books from all the streams. The college also has good canteen and hostel facility for students. All the classroom are air-conditioned and has AV facility for presentation. The college also has an auditorium facility for college fest and conferences. The hostel rooms are quite spacious, and students have options to choose the type of room depending upon the availability.
Faculty: The teachers are helpful and have got a very good experience in the industry which helps students to get great insights about our corporate industry. The teaching methodology is quite flexible since the academic approach is focused on theoretical and practical learning. The students get opportunity to visit a lot of companies during their industrial visit to get a lot of exposure to the industry. The course curriculum was really helpful since it is updated every year to ensure that subjects are relevant according to the industry.
Other: The college is based in the heart of the city and has a lot of happening places nearby on the campus. There are a lot of college fests which students get an opportunity to participate. The main fest of the institute is Panache which happens in February and most of the colleges participate in this event which is a cultural management fest. The students also get scholarship and recognition from the government. PSU and Maruti company give scholarships to students for their excellent performance in academics.

This college produces managers with a difference.
Placements: 80% students got placed with reputed companies. The highest package offered was 13 lakhs and the average goes to 5.5 lakhs. Godrej, Maruti, Exide, HUL, etc. came for the placements. Students were offered the posts of HR generalist, IR and talent acquisition.
Infrastructure: It is a Wi-Fi enabled institute with air-conditioned and projector-enabled classrooms, activity area and an e- library. The food served in the canteen was hygienic and healthy. There was space for sports and vehicle parking with a fully air-conditioned auditorium. There was a facility of a lift for faculty members.
Faculty: There were highly educated and talented faculty members who taught us on projectors. We got the chance to visit companies within the state and in other states as well. The course curriculum was very useful as it is linked to the present scenario of HR. Our college organises seminars and meetings. We got the opportunity to interact with the HR dignitaries of various companies and businesses they share their experiences and give us advice regarding survival and how to excel in the field of HR and the corporate world.
