Despite the span and seriousness of COVID-19, it will lastingly affect our general public: Gatiq, DGI
These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.
The new coronavirus pandemic is overturning life as we probably are aware of. More than one-fourth of the world's 7.8 billion individuals are present to a great extent bound to their homes, as governments step up controls on development and social contact in an offer to contain the infection.
In numerous pieces of the world, fringes are shut, air terminals, lodgings, and organizations shut, and schools dropped. These remarkable measures are tearing at the social texture of certain social orders and disturbing numerous economies, bringing about mass occupation misfortunes and raising the apparition of boundless appetite, but what to do, no other alternative can be used to fight this pandemic.
As the whole world is under lockdown, what do we expect to happen after it is over and what is happening now, what all impact would it bring on our education system? It can be very well predicted that people won't forget what all they have suffered or might have suffered due to this virus. So according to me, people will fear to send their children not only to schools and colleges but for an outing too. This will contribute to the major downfall of the current education system.
Currently, not all the students in India have facilities to attend online classes, distance learning/online classes can be effective only if all students have computers and high-speed internet access. Restrictions and limits are very much important, it keeps one in discipline but the online classes have reduced the restrictions over the students. Students very well know that they are not being monitored and which is why the amount of learning has been reduced, which in turn will affect student's performance.
There are a lot of technical courses which comprises of technical subjects which indeed need physical demonstrations and since not all students have the privilege of the latest technology so that they could attend the online classes they are not able to gain the knowledge.
Despite all these, schools and colleges have kept on running online classes without rectifying the issue, again the advanced separation will affect numerous understudies' capacity to learn and stay on track for scholastic advancement. The students, especially the seniors who are in their final year of college and were expecting jobs after their graduation, are affected. A lot of them would have got disheartened as it can be predicted that as there will be an economic downfall and companies will not hire freshers.
