KIIT has started an online platform, kiit.myperfectice.com to clarify doubts of the students: Sachin
These are first-hand student accounts on how our young population is managing to keep their exam prep or college course work going from the confines of their homes. In case you want to share your lockdown study experience, write to us at publish@shiksha.com.
These days we all are staying at our homes, spending times with our loved ones, remembering old days and reminisce the memories, and staying away from all the non-essential duties.
Currently, we are in a situation that we never thought of. The schools and colleges, particularly the final year students are facing severe problems and issues due to this lockdown, which the respective authorities are trying to solve out as far as possible.
In this article, I will be sharing how colleges, particularly KIIT is tackling the current situation amid lockdown due to the pandemic so that the students can develop their skills and are not demotivated thinking much about their future goals. The final year students would suffer the most as the placement activities and preparatory classes are almost shut and no one knows when it will happen, some of them haven’t received their offer letters which they should have received by this time, under normal circumstances. Some of the interviews have been deferred.
I have discussed with my friend and some of my juniors, that online classes are being conducted regularly for each theory paper from the first week of April effectively for all courses and branches. The students have been asked to submit their assignments to their respective teachers within a time frame if they don’t want to lose grades, and the students are taking it seriously.
For final year students, they are asked to practise aptitude, reasoning from online platforms which KIIT has started on kiit.myperfectice.com and clear their doubts accordingly.
However, there are some issues which the students are facing during online classes like network connectivity particularly for those residing in remote locations, they are not able to clear all their doubts as the classes are held for a specified time. The teachers are trying their best to complete the syllabus and only discussing the topics which are important and a bit hard and for the easy chapters, only doubts clarification sessions are being conducted. The students are receiving their regular study material apart from the textbooks on their mails.
No updates have been made for the end semester exams or practical, as we know that the schools and colleges in Odisha are shut till June 17, 2020.
We all know that it will take some amount of time for the things to be normal and on track. We will be seeing the financial crisis globally particularly for countries like India which are in the developing phase. For the time being, all the students must keep faith in themselves and make the most of this time.
