Mystory@Manjeet Verma: How I made the most of my college
I had often heard people saying that college life was tough, but could only believe in it when I started attending college. Though I was finding it tough to survive in college, I always kept telling myself that I should keep doing things by myself, else I would never be able to learn. To emerge as a better person, I stuck to my thoughts and kept doing as many things as I could all by myself. Nevertheless, there were numerous situations where I was clueless of what next step I should take. Here, I thought the best possible option would be to seek opinion of my seniors or my professors. As helpful as they could be, my professors always assisted me in understanding things that I failed to understand all by myself – this helped me create a point of view and judge situations better.
Another thing that is popular about colleges is making good friends and having great time with them (most of the Bollywood movies show this). But trust me, there is much more to this! What you experience in reality is assignments, tutorials, performing experiments and writing lengthy files. We never had free time. Most of our time was occupied with exams, vivas and file submissions. There was always something or the other were we needed to concentrate on.
We all have heard of the popular saying, ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’. Following the same, we made sure that in spite of the busy schedule, we took out a little time for yourselves and enjoyed too. We bunked classes (not always) as this was a good idea to hang out with friends.
Talking about my college experience as a whole, I enjoyed a lot, but at the same time I made sure that I put in hard work and dedication into my studies to ensure a better future for myself.
