Students’ Speak: Important tips to prepare in the last month to score high in COMEDK

COMEDK UGET is the entrance examination for taking admissions in the State of Karnataka. COMEDK UGET examination includes Medical, Engineering and Dental courses. The decision of taking competitive examinations is very crucial for every aspirant. After taking this decision, the next big question is how to prepare for this exam. The following are the tips to help in securing a good score in the last month preparation.
Choose the right study materials
To prepare for any competitive examination like COMEDK UGET, choosing the right materials becomes really important. Correct materials might give you great success ahead. The first and foremost thing is to refer to the class running and short notes prepared by you. For fundamentals, refer to NCERT books. If you have already prepared for JEE Main, you could also refer those books and materials to prepare for the examination as most of the syllabus is similar. Also, standard books and Karnataka CET previous years question papers could also be referred. Some of the standard and important books are listed below

Pattern of the examination
It is important for every aspirant to know the examination structure of COMEDK UGET. This is an online examination. In this examination, there are three sections namely Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics (for engineering students), and Biology (for medical students). There are multiple-choice questions (MCQs); each question will have four choices, out of four only one will be the correct answer. One mark is given for every correct answer and there is no negative marking. In COMEDK UGET each section consists of 60 questions. The language of the examination is English only. Total marks of this examination are 180. The time duration for this examination is 3 hours.
Important topics There are highest-scoring topics or important topics in every entrance examination. Practice previous years question to know about scoring topics. Some of the important topics subject-wise are given below:
- Physics: Electric Charge, Ray Optics, Semi-conductor Electronics, Electrostatic Potentials, Dual Nature of Radiation and Matter, Wave Optics, Optical Instruments and Current Electricity
- Chemistry:- Polymers and Biomolecules, P, D, F – Block Elements from Inorganic, Surface Chemistry, Solutions, Chemical Kinetics, Haloalkalines, Solid State and Electrochemistry
- Mathematics: Vectors, Calculus, Algebra, 3D Geometry, Relation and Functions
Revision with self-evaluation
Both revision and self-evaluation are important to achieve success in competitive exams. After completing the syllabus, start the revision of all the topics and go through short notes prepared during classes. Revision helps to recall the concepts, improving your memory, ability to think, and so on.
Self-analysis is equally important while preparation of entrance exams. Write as many mock tests as you can, analyse your performance and rectify mistakes is a good process to learn your own mistakes while preparing for exams. If required take guidance from your faculty and seniors as well.
