NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025: National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) is expected to tentatively release the application for NTPC recruitment through GATE 2025 in the third week of May 2025. Candidates will be allowed to apply for the Engineering Executive Graduates vacancies till the second week of June 2025.

NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025 offers recruitment of Engineering Executive Graduates through GATE 2025. Graduate engineers in Electrical, Mechanical, Instrumentation and Electronics can apply for the NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025. Shortlisting will be based on the GATE 2025 scores only. National Thermal Power Corporation Limited (NTPC) is an Indian Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Power, Government of India. The selection of candidates for various job vacancies will be based on candidates’ performance in GATE 2025, Personal Interview (PI) and Group Discussion (GD). Q:   Can commerce students apply for GATE exam?
A:

Yes, candidates having qualifying degree in B.Com can apply for GATE exam to get admission to the master's programmes in IITs and IISc. Candidates must go through the GATE information brochure carefully before applying. Also, students in 3rd year or final year in commerce are also eligible for GATE. 

Q:   Can I opt for any paper in the GATE two paper combination list?
A:

No, applicants cannot opt for any paper from the combination list. Candidates can only select from the options provided by the GATE authorities in the GATE 2026 paper combination list. For example, a CS student has the free will to choose from the following set of exam papers: DA, EC, GE, MA, PH, and ST. 

Q:   For how many GATE papers can I apply and how much will I have to pay?
A:

You can apply for two GATE papers (maximum). While filling out the GATE application form, you need to select the primary and secondary paper. The GATE secondary paper must be from the subject list prescribed by the GATE authorities. Before adding the paper, go through the subject combination list and GATE paper codes. 

Candidates opting for two GATE papers will have to pay double the fees mentioned -

For example,  

  • If a general category candidate is applying for two GATE papers, then he/she has to pay a fee of INR 4000 (during the regular timeline) and INR 5000 (during the extended period).
  • The same applies to the female, SC, ST, and PwD category candidates, INR 2000 (during the regular time period) and INR 3000 (during the extended period).

NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025: Eligibility Criteria

Candidates must fulfil all the following eligibility conditions before applying for vacancies in the NTPC:

Age Limit

Candidates must be under 27 years on the last date of application in NTPC. The relaxation in the age limit of candidates belonging to reserved categories is as follows:

  • SC/ST - Age Limit - 32 years
  • OBC - Age Limit - 30 YEARS (Non-Creamy Layer)
  • PWD (General) - Age Limit - 37 years
  • PWD (OBC) - Age Limit - 40 years
  • PWD (SC/ST) - Age Limit - 42 years
  • Candidates who lived in Jammu and Kashmir from 01-Jan-1981 to 31-Dec-1990 - Age Limit - 32 years.
  • Relaxation for Ex-servicemen (XSM) will be according to the Government of India norms

Marks in Graduation

  • A candidate must score at least 65% in a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Technology/AMIE.
  • For SC, ST and PWD candidates, the minimum qualifying percentage is reduced in the qualifying degree to 55%.
  • All candidates must be declared medically fit by the NTPC medical board, and no relaxation of health standards will be entertained.

NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025: Application Process

  • All candidates need to deposit the application fees at an SBI bank before applying online
  • The candidates will be required to apply online by logging in to the official website: www.ntpccareers.net 
  • After logging in and entering all the details in the application form, candidates must upload their passport-size photograph in jpg/jpeg format not exceeding 500kb.
  • A Unique Registration Number will be generated after successfully completing the registration process.

Q:   Can I get direct admission to IIT Kharagpur?
A:

No, IIT Kharagpur does not offer direct admission to the students. Admission to all the courses is either entrance-based or is subject to rigorous selection rounds inclusive of Personal Interviews conducted by the institute. The institute accepts JEE Advanced scores for admission to BTech. Candidates are required to qualify JEE Main exam prior to appearing for JEE Advanced. Apart from its flagship program, IIT Kharagpur offers BSc/BS, Integrated MTech, Integrated MSc, LLM, MBA, E-MBA, along with PhD programmes to the students and admission to all courses is based on scores obtained in the entrance examinations such as GATE, IIT JAM and CAT exams, among others. 

Q:   What is the mode of admission for B.Arch at IIT Kharagpur?
A:

Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur offers undergraduate, postgraduate, Ph.D. and other courses to students. It offers these programmes through 13 Schools, 19 departments, and nine centres of excellence. The courses include B.Arch B.Tech, a five-year Dual Degree, M.Sc. M.Tech / MCP-PhD, MMST, MBA, M.Tech-PhD, and Ph.D. courses. The modes of admission for B.Arch at IIT Kharagpur are online and offline.

NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025: Selection Process

The candidates will be shortlisted based on their performance in GATE. Group discussions and personal interviews will be conducted with those who have successfully passed the hurdle GATE. A merit list will be prepared after the evaluation of the minimum qualifying marks in GD and Interview.

NTPC Recruitment through GATE 2025: Job Profile

Once the candidates are shortlisted, they will undergo one year of training before the final posting which will be based on performance during training and requirements. Candidates can be assigned any projects or subsidiary functions of NTPC across India.

Salary Description

The consolidated remuneration for this post is as follows:

The successful candidates are entitled to a salary of Rs. 24,900-3% -50,500 at the basic pay of Rs 24,900. After completing training, candidates will be designated as assistant managers on the pay scale of Rs 24,900-3% -50,500 at basic pay of Rs 25,650/.

As per the company rules, all selected candidates are entitled to numerous allowances, such as a dearness allowance, medical benefits, provident fund, gratuity, etc..

No, BTech admissions at IIT Kharagpur accept the scores of the JEE Mains entrance exam to decide a candidate's admission. The exam is followed by the JoSAA counseling to finalise the admission of a candidate. The WBJEE entrance exam is not accepted for any admissions into the IIT Kharagpur courses.
