Students’ Speak: Placement and Internship Details of SJCIT

The tip is that you should attend the maximum classes for placement training. The more you are skilled there are greater chances of getting hired by the companies.  

There are many placement activities that take place in SJCIT college every year. Now let’s talk in detail about how the placements take place and go on at SJCIT.

PREPARATION FOR THE PLACEMENTS:

Preparation for the placement activities will start from the first year itself. There is a separate HR Department that will assist the students from the first year till the student gets placed in any company that he wishes to join.

The tip is that you should attend the maximum classes for placement training. The more you are skilled there are greater chances of getting hired by the companies. 

INTERNSHIPS:

Currently, our college does not provide any internships as of now, but one can complete their internships on their own so that they can build their resume. There are no off-campus placements, there are only in campus placements. The more internships you do,  more the chances are of you getting a job offer. 

PLACEMENT ELIGIBILITY:

Now when we talk about the placements, not everybody on our campus will get placed in the campus selection. To get selected one must polish their skills. The main aspect to get an entry into the placements activities is academics performance. The students are called for interview only if they have the minimum marks that is required by the company recruiter. The most common percentage that the companies ask nowadays is about 60% but the students with a higher percentage have a greater chance of getting hired by the recruiter. Hence, one should maintain a good aggregate to get placed. The companies will start coming for placement in the 3^rd year itself.

POST-PLACEMENT DETAILS:

Placements that take place in SJCIT are purely based on students’ academic performance and skillsets. There are equal opportunities for all branch students in the placement drive and moreover, the branch-wise placements are dependent completely upon the company’s requirement.

When we talk about the last year’s branch-wise placement break up, most placed students are from Computer Science, Information Science and Electronics and Communication Engineering. Even though other branch students also get placed but they are less in number due to the requirement of the recruiting companies.

When we talk about the batch strength, it is approximately 720 students and when we come to talk about the total percentage of students placed, 50% of the students get placed in the last year and when we talk about 2018, 40% of the students were placed.

The major companies that come for campus selection are Wipro, TCS, Mindtree, TVS Motors, NTT Data, Just Dial, Infosys, Capgemini, Titan, Mphasis, etc.

The highest package offered in the campus is 7.3LPA, the average package offered is of 4LPA and the lowest package offered is 3LPA.

The placements activity has three rounds. The first round is an aptitude test round. In the second round, you will have the interview conducted in the campus itself. Then you will be taken to the main office for an interview and there you will get your offer letters. This whole process is supervised by the HR Department.
