IIT Kharagpur offers a joint MTech/ MCP PhD programme to students who have completed their UG degree in the relevant stream. Under this programme, at the end of the first year, interested students with a CGPA of 8.0 and above are eligible to appear for a written test and/or interview to check their suitability to enrol for PhD. Those who do not qualify for PhD can continue with their two-year MTech/MCP programme. Students selected for PhD will have to complete the two-year academic requirements of MTech/ MCP programme before enrolment for PhD. For these students, the MTech/MCP and PhD degrees will be awarded together upon successful completion of PhD. The programme is open to students of all categories with a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology/ Architecture/ MSc or equivalent professional degrees (AMIE, etc.) with a valid GATE score.

NIT Durgapur admissions for MTech is based on GATE score. The institute offers seats under Sponsored and Self-Sponsored Category. After qualifying GATE, candidates are required to come for CCMT Counselling. GATE cutoffs are released online, aspirants with score equal or above cutoff, become eligible for counselling. COEP Pune accepts JEE Main rank for admission in BTech programme. However, majority of seats are sanctioned for Maharashtra domicile students and are filled through MHT-CET. An additional 20% seats are provided for All India Candidates who are admitted through the JEE-Main score.

1. The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering, or GATE, is the main entrance exam that VJTI Mumbai accepts for admission to the M.Tech program. To apply, candidates must have a current GATE score.

For admission in a ASET Noida M.Tech course, candidates must hold a valid BE/BTech degree in relevant specialisation. The UG degree course should have been passed with at least 60% aggregate.
