SBI Clerk exam is conducted annually by the State Bank of India. The exam is conducted for selection of Junior Associate (Customer Support and Sales). Selected candidates are posted to the various branches of SBI spread throughout the country. SBI Clerk salary is INR 19,900 (INR 17,900 plus two advance increments admissible to graduates). Any graduate candidate who are between 20 and 28 years can apply for the exam. Relaxation in the age limit is provided to candidates belonging to different categories. SBI Clerk selection process comprises prelims and mains exams followed by language proficiency test. It is mandatory to clear the language proficiency test. Large number of vacancies are announced for the exam. Around 20 to 25 lakh candidates apply for the exam.

The total starting emoluments given to the Junior Associates in the metro city such as Mumbai are around INR 29,000 per month, inclusive of DA and other allowances as per the current rate. Besides, two additional increments are given to newly recruited graduate Junior Associates. Earlier, the total starting emoluments for metro cities was INR 26,000. Allowances also vary depending on the place of posting. Candidates are eligible for reimbursement of various perquisites, Provident Fund, Pension under New Pension Scheme (Defined Contribution Benefit), Medical, Leave-Fare, and other facilities as per the requirement of the bank.

SBI Clerk exam is conducted in four shifts. The reporting time for shift 1 is 8 AM whereas it is 10.30 AM for Shift 2. SBI Clerk reporting time for Shift 3 is 1 pm whereas it is 3.30 for Shift 4. 

The prelims exam of SBI Clerk is conducted in four shifts. The Mains exam is conducted in two shifts. The prelims exam carries 100 marks. The mains exam is held for 200 marks. Candidates need to prepare well inorder to clear the exam. 

The prelims and Mains exams are conducted in multiple shifts. The prelims exam is conducted in four shifts whereas the Mains exam is conducted in two shifts. The prelims exam of SBI Clerk carries 100 questions.The mains exam carries 190 questions.

SBI Clerk admit card is released one week before the exam. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with registration number or roll number and date of birth or password. The hard copy of the admit card is not send by post.

To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam provisionally. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. Adequate number of candidates in each category as decided by the Bank  (approximately 10 times the numbers of vacancies. subject to availability) will be shortlisted for the Main Exam from the list of all candidates arranged in descending order of aggregate marks scored.
