SBI Clerk 2026 Recruitment: Check Dates, Application Form, Eligibility & FAQs

To be eligible for SBI Clerk exam, candidates should be between 20 and 28 years and have completed graduation in any discipline. Candidates who are in the final year of graduation can also apply for the exam provisionally. Relaxation in the upper age limit is given to candidates belonging to reserved categories. SBI Clerk exam is conducted by State Bank of India to recruit eligible candidates for the post of Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales). Selection process comprises prelims and Mains exam. LPT is also conducted. Final selection is done based on marks obtained in Mains exam. 

The Reasoning Ability section tests the knowledge of candidates and their capability of solving the general ability problems with their intelligence. Questions are asked basically from Logical Reasoning and Verbal and Non-Verbal Reasoning. The Reasoning Ability section of SBI Clerk carries questions from topics such as Puzzle, Seating Arrangement, Blood Relations, Syllogism, Coding-Decoding, Input-Output, Inequalities, Statement and Assumptions, Order and Ranking, Data Sufficiency and Alphanumeric Series.

The starting basic pay of SBI Clerk is INR 26,730 (INR 24050 plus two advance increments). The pay scale is INR 24050-1340/3-28070-1650/3-33020-2000/4-41020-2340/7-57400-4400/1-61800-2680/1-64480. The total starting emoluments of a Clerical Cadre employee payable at Metro like Mumbai is around INR 46,000 per month inclusive of D.A., other allowances at the current rate and two additional increments for newly recruited graduate junior associates. Allowances may vary depending upon the place of posting. The in-hand salary of SBI Clerk includes the approximate amount a candidate gets after the deductions. The starting salary of SBI Clerk is approximately INR 46000 in a metro city like Mumbai.

SBI Clerk starting salary is INR 19,900. The4 revised payscale is INR 17900-1000/3-20900-1230/3-24590-1490/4-30550- 1730/7-42600-3270/1-45930-1990/1-47920. Candidates are also given various allowances. Recruitment is done based on the selection process.

Candidates are required to score a minimum percentage marks on aggregate (For SC/ST/OBC/PwBD/XS/DXS candidates, 5% relaxation available thereon). Minimum qualifying marks on aggregate will be as decided by the bank. No minimum qualifying marks for individual subject are prescribed. Section wise marks will not be maintained.

SBI Clerk exam comprises prelims and Mains exams. Total marks allotted to test are 100. Total marks for the mains test are 200. Candidates qualifying the mains exam are also required to appear for LPT. Prelims marks are not counted for the final merit list.
