IIM Mumbai offers financial assistance to meritorious students. The scholarships are disbursed under the following schemes:
- GATE-qualified candidates are entitled to Teaching Assistantship (at present Rs.12400 per month) and contingency expenditure as per rules.
- SC/ST candidates are granted Central Sector Scholarship as per the scheme of Govt. of India subject to the satisfactory fulfilment of terms and conditions mentioned therein.
- 30% waiver of tuition fee: Any student entering the postgraduate programme whose total family income does not exceed Rs 2.50 lakh in the last financial year shall be eligible for this scholarship.

In order to apply for PGPEX-VLFM courses at IIM Mumbai candidates need to follow the below-mentioned steps:
Step 1: Download the application form. The form is elaborate and expects students to fill in detailed responses.
Step 2: The application portal will be working around the admission time. However, the institute also accepts the filled form emailed and speed posted as part of the student’s application packet.
Step 3: Ensure attaching the relevant DD and the self-attested certificates.

For PGDIM course admission, candidates must have satisfy the eligibility criteria and appear for the CAT entrance exam. Indian candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion (GD) and personal interview (PI) process based on their valid CAT scores subject to meeting the minimum eligibility criteria. On the other hand, international candidates are shortlisted for the group discussion and personal interview process based on GMAT scores, IELTS/ TOEFL (applicable for foreign candidates) and 60% aggregate marks in the qualifying degree.
IIM Admission Criteria and Selection Process 2023 - The first step towards getting into the IIMs is taking the CAT exam. The next steps are Written Ability Test (WAT) and Personal Intervew (PI). The WAT and PI are the main selection criteria of IIM MBA admission. They are conducted after the CAT result announcement. Candidates who meet the CAT cut off, are shortlisted for WAT and PI. Final selection for IIM admission is based on candidate's overall profile - CAT score, academic score, work experience, category and WAT and PI score.
The eligibility for IIMs is the same as the CAT eligibility requirements. However, here are a few added points to be kept in mind.
- The minimum requirement is a graduate degree with 50% for general, EWS, and NC-OBC categories or 45% for SC, ST, and PwD categories.
- Candidates in their final year of graduation are also eligible
- Candidates must meet the minimum cutoffs to participate in the WAT/PI rounds and expect interview calls.

IIM Mumbai cutoff is based on CAT 2023 scores followed by the Group Discussion and Personal Interview process. IIM Mumbai formerly known as NITIE offers Post Graduate Diploma in Management course specialisation, including Industrial Management, Industrial Engineering and Sustainability Management.
IIM Mumbai in collaboration with IIT Delhi, also provides Post Graduate Diploma to executives currently working in the Industry through the Visionary Leaders for Manufacturing Programme (PGPEx-VLFM). Yes, the CAT 2025 exam will be conducted in three shifts. The exam was earlier conducted in 2 shifts, but since 2020, the CAT is conducted in three shifts - morning, afternoon and evening. In CAT 2025 too, there will be three slots which will be allotted to applicants in no particular order.
The CAT exam slot timings will be -
- First shift: 8:00 AM to 10:00 AM,
- Second shift: 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM and
- Third shift: 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM.
The IIM Mumbai Admission Test (IMAT) is an online exam based on the CAT (Common Admission Test) exam pattern conducted by IIM Mumbai as part of the admission process for the Executive MBA. IMAT exam provides an alternative for those seeking admission without the CAT/ GRE/ GMAT scores. The IMAT shall be for 100 marks and 90-120 minutes.
Yes, candidates in the final year of graduation can also apply for any of the three courses, provided they qualify for the final examination by the time of joining the institute and submit the mark sheet and provisional certificate. Stay in hostels is not mandatory in IIM Mumbai. It's depends on you if you don't want to take hostel, then you can live outside but I think in IIM Mumbai, for some courses like PGDIE, PGDIM hostels are compulsory.
