IIHM eCHAT 2025 exam pattern includes five major components: Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Interpretation, Intelligence & Critical Reasoning, and Awareness of Indian & Global Economy. Aspirants need to attempt 50 questions in a duration of 60 minutes. The test paper for IIHM contains different types of questions in order to evaluate aspirants on the basis of their aptitude and skills.
Earlier, IIHM eCHAT was conducted online in such a way that aspirants had to appear at the web centre mentioned on their IIHM eCHAT admit card for the hospitality entrance exam. However, due to COVID-19 and the resulting social distancing norms specified by the Government, International Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM) has decided that it would allow students to appear for IIHM eCHAT exam from the comfort of their homes. Candidates who pass the written entrance exam need to participate in an interview round via video call.

In this hospitality entrance exam, candidates need to answer questions from different formats. Some types of questions that are asked in IIHM eCHAT exam are listed below:
- Multiple-choice questions
- True/False questions
- Text fill-in-the-blank
- Numeric fill-in-the-blank
- Multiple selections (Student can select multiple answers in such questions)
- Picture-click multiple choice

IIHM eCHAT exam pattern is such that it contains objective type multiple-choice questions. Topics from which questions are asked in the exam include:
