Presidency University Master Degree Entrance Test (PUMDET) 2024 Exam is scheduled to be held on July 28, 2024 (Sunday) between 11:00 am to 12:30 pm. PUMDET exam is conducted by West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB). PUMDET exam is held to offer admission to candidates in MA and MSc courses offered at Presidency University, Kolkata. PUMDET has separate entrance exams for offering admission in Science and Humanities courses.

Candidates seeking admission in courses offered through PUMDET need to first apply for the exam. PUMDET 2024 application process has now concluded. Eligible and interested candidates were supposed to visit the official website of the WBJEEB to apply for the exam. The last date to fill the PUMDET 2024 application form was May 7, 2024. After registration, candidates were allowed to make changes in the PUMDET 2024 application form if required from May 9, 2024 to May 10, 2024. After successful registration, candidates will be able to download the PUMDET 2024 admit card, which will be released online. PUMDET 2024 admit card will be available for download tentatively from July 18, 2024 to July 28, 2024. Once the PUMDET 2024 exam is over, the exam conducting body will release the PUMDET 2024 result.
PUMDET is generally conducted in the months of June-July. The entrance exam dates are informed in advance for students to prepare well for the test. PUMDET 2024 was held on July 7, 2024. Applications for the same opened in April and ended in the first week of May. After the exam, PUMDET result is declared on the official website of West Bengal Joint Entrance Examinations Board (WBJEEB) in the form of rank cards.

Ahead of the PUMDET exam, the exam conducting body has released a set of important rules for PUMDET 2024 examination.
- Candidates are supposed to reach the examination centers on time at least 30 minutes before commencement of the test.
- Candidates should know about the exact location of their exam center and means of commuting to the exam centre to avoid any inconvenience.
- Notably, candidates will not be allowed seat at any other exam centre other than the allotted to them on the admit card.
- Aspirants exam will be cancelled if he/she is found to occupy a seat other than the one allotted to him/her on.
- Candidates are required to carry the following documents to enter the examination centre like
- A printed copy of admit card of PUMDET-2024.
- A photocopy of the colour photograph which was uploaded during online application.
- Original photo identity card such as Aadhaar card or PAN card or Passport or Voter card or 10th standard admit card.
- Candidates are are suggested to take their seats at least 15 minutes before the start of the exam.
- Candidates will not be allowed to enter the examination center after the scheduled exam time under any circumstances.
- Candidates will not be allowed to carry paper, pen, written or printed material, calculator, wristwatch, log table, any communication device like mobile phones, any blue tooth device etc. inside the examination hall. Candidates found carrying any such prohibited items will be reported against and his/her candidature and his or her exam will be cancelled.
- Candidates will be provided with the question booklets before the start of the test. Candidates need to take out the OMR sheet and cross check if their OMR number and question booklet number are matching.
- Candidates are required to put their signature on the top of question booklet.
- Candidates need to read the instructions mentioned on OMR sheet and on the cover page of question booklet carefully.
- Candidates need to write question booklet number and roll number at the appropriate places on the OMR sheet. Wrong entry of question booklet number and roll number may lead to rejection of the OMR sheet or wrong scoring, for which the Board will not be held responsible. If any candidate makes any mistake, he/she must not overwrite. Request the invigilator to strike it out and rewrite the correct numbers and put his/her (Invigilator) signature.
- Candidates are supposed to darken appropriate circle/bubbles of question booklet number, Roll number and question booklet series (e.g., A/B/C/D).
- Candidates are supposed to write their name in BLOCK LETTERS, name of the center and put your signature in appropriate places on the OMR sheet. Candidates are not allowed to not put stray mark anywhere else as this t may lead to the rejection of OMR sheet.
- Candidates need to check their photograph, roll number, spelling of their name in the attendance sheet are similar with those given in the admit card.
- Candidates will be allowed to open the question booklets only at the time of start of the exam.
- Candidates need to maintain silence during the exam. If any candidate is found adopting any unfair means, his/her candidature will be considered cancelled and they can also be debarred either permanently or for a period of time.
- Candidates will not be allowed to do any discussion with the exam invigilator related to any question.
- Candidates can do rough work in the space given in the question booklet.
- Candidates are not allowed to leave his/her seat without prior permission of the invigilator till the end of the exam.
- Candidate are not supposed to leave the exam hall till the exam is over and all OMR sheets are collected by the invigilator.
- Notably, candidates will be allowed to take his/her question booklet once the exam is over.
- If any candidate is found impersonating during the exam strict action will be taken against such candidate. He/she will also be handed over to the police and candidature of the original candidate will be cancelled by the exam conducting body.
