A: 

Sikkim University takes applications from the deserving UG and PG students for merit-cum-means scholarship in the prescribed format. Meritorious students who have secured 55% (50% for SC, ST, and OBC) in qualifying examination/ overall percentage of previous semesters as the case may be (50% for renewal cases) with an average family income of less than INR 60,000/- per annum and receiving no other scholarship/ financial assistance from any other source are eligible to apply. Students may apply in the prescribed format along with the parents’ income certificate (certificate issued by any officer, not below the rank of BDO/ Tahsildar). The fellowship will be awarded under the following category:

  • Fellowship: INR 3,000 per month.
  • Freeship: Full tuition fee and laboratory fee waiver.
  • Half Freeship: 50% tuition fee and laboratory fee waiver.
