Class 11 Chemistry Chapters with Solutions: With the specialized discipline-based and content-oriented course introduction, Higher Secondary is considered the most crucial stage of school education. Most of the students opt chemistry in class 11 with an aim of pursuing their career in basic sciences or get enrolled in courses like medicine, engineering, technology etc. Therefore, the students must learn Chemistry with its sufficient conceptual background.

In order to study Chemistry in class 11 completely, the students need to first be aware of all the Class 11 Chemistry Chapters. The knowledge related to the Chemistry subjects and chapters has undergone changes during the past decade. On this page, we have provided the names of updated Class 11 Chemistry Chapters along with direct links for chapter-wise solutions, an overview of the subject, important topics and more. Students should also note that the almost all boards in India follow similar Class 11 Chemistry Syllabus and Textbooks.

What is Chemistry?

Chemistry is the branch of natural science that deals with the study of the properties, composition, and structure of elements and compunds. Every matter or substance that we see, feel or touch, or experience is studied in Chemistry. In chemistry, we study the compositions of matter, what they are made up of, how they can change, and the energy they produce.

11 Chemistry NCERT is subdivided into three main parts, which are as under:

  • Physical Chemistry
  • Inorganic Chemistry
  • Organic Chemistry

Physical chemistry: Physical chemistry deals with the study of macroscopic properties, atomic properties, and phenomena in chemical systems. The students also learn the rates of chemical reactions, the energy transfers that occur in reactions, and the physical structure of matter at the molecular level.

Inorganic chemistry: In Inorganic chemistry, the students study the substances that normally have little or no carbon, constitute the discipline of inorganic chemistry. Generally, Inorganic chemicals are commonly found in rocks and minerals.

Organic chemistry: Organic chemistry is the study of chemicals that contain carbon with hydrogen. Carbon has numerous variety and extent of structures that results from the three-dimensional connections of its atoms. Carbon is one of the most abundant elements that is capable of forming a vast number of chemicals. In the living organism, most of the chemicals found are based on carbon.

Commonly asked questions
Q:   Which books does CBSE follow?
A:

The CBSE primarily follows the NCERT textbooks for all classes. While schools can use supplementary materials and reference books, NCERT books are the core of CBSE syllabus to ensure a uniform standard across all affiliated schools.

Q:   Are NCERT books enough to score well in CBSE 12th medical board exams?
A:
Hi Sharan, Yes, they are sufficient, if you study it thoroughly. But solving previous years problems is also equally important. Apart from this attempting TedT series of the same also plays important roles. Best of luck.
Q:   Is there any difference in CBSE 12th hard books and e-books? Can I not buy and just download and read them?
A:

No, there is no difference between the CBSE 12th hard books and the e-books made available here. You can definitely download them and study from them

Q:   Where can I download the CBSE 12th books online for free?
A:

NCERT has uploaded the books for class 12 or CBSE 12th books on the official website. Shiksha.com has also uploaded the e-books here for students. You can click on the subject-wise CBSE 12th books link to download and read the e-books.

Class 11 Chemistry Chapters Overview
