Manipal University, Jaipur is taking up the pandemic very seriously. MUJ had to come up with better solutions to follow the situation wisely. Manipal University, Jaipur has always been the University to follow quite a strict schedule within the obliged time frame. Such University once again had to come up with a new schedule as quickly as possible without compromising anything.

Thus, the University decided to act quickly and declared summer vacations till the end of May 2020. This helped the students not to come back from their homes who went on Holi vacations. Also, this helped the University handle the lockdown more wisely.

Are there online classes being conducted? If yes, how effective are these? With what frequency are these held? Are they sufficient to cover the designated syllabus?

The university has started online classes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd-year students. As a matter of fact, last semester students don't require much of online classes because of more assignments and placement preparations. Thus, the University is holding online classes only for other students. Furthermore, being a final year student I don't know how effective would these online classes prove to be, still, I hope they come out as a better medium to at least keep the students occupied and productive during the lockdown.

The online classes would surely be able to achieve the target to cover the syllabus while effectively working out the students’ understanding as the faculties are dedicated to teaching the students and they provide sufficient material to let the students understand the topics better through Powerpoint presentations and MS-Docx.

Are you projects or assignments to work on from home? What is the number of online submissions required to take place?

I guess for final semester students, the learning part is over and the implementing part has started. All the projects and assignments are now done at home and sent through mails to the faculty. The number of submissions remains the same as before for the final year students that includes 4 to 5 assignments on average for each subject which could cover the practical marks of the subjects.

Anything else the college is doing in these times that is noteworthy that you would like to draw attention to.

MUJ has also prepared its hostel rooms to work as Quarantine Centres to help the others out there in need. However, its students’ safety still remains its foremost duty. They have utilised only the vacant blocks as quarantine centres and are managing the food requirement for all the people still there, including their students who could not manage to go home during the lockdown.
