The placement rate recorded during 2025-26 placement was 100%. The highest domestic and international package by MBA Batch 2026 was INR 145 LPA and INR 110 LPA. In collaboration with the Alfred P. Sloan School of Management (MIT), The Ford Foundation and Indian industry, and the Government of West Bengal, IIM Calcutta was established in the year 1961. Indian Institute of Management, Calcutta is ranked four by NIRF (National Institutional Ranking Framework) 2023 under the Management category. Details of Some of the Notable Alumni
1. Ramchandra Guha
Ramachandra Guha is an Indian historian, author, and philosopher whose areas of expertise include economics, social policy, politics, the environment, and the history of cricket. His pieces are published in a number of other newspapers, including The Telegraph, the Hindustan Times, the Hindi daily and Amar Ujala. He obtained a Ph.D. in the history of forestry in Uttarakhand in addition to researching the Chipuco movement at the Indian Institute of Management.
2. Sunil Duggal
An executive and businessman from India, Sunil Duggal. He was the previous CEO of Dabur, the biggest producer of ayurvedic medicines in India. Duggal possesses an Indian Master of Business Administration from Kolkata School of Management and a Bachelor of Engineering from Birla Institute of Technology and Science. Duggal graduated with an MBA from the IIM Calcutta.
3. Amish Tripathi
Amish Tripathi is an author from India. He is well-known for the Ram Chandra and Shiva trilogies of literature. The Ram Chandra series is the second-best-selling series in Indian publishing history, behind the Shiva trilogy, which has sold the most copies overall. He graduated from IIM Calcutta.
4. Indra Nooyi
Indra Nooyi, an Indian executive chairman and chief executive officer of Pepsi, was born on October 28, 1955. She has been acknowledged as one of the 100 most powerful women in the world in recent years. She was listed as the 13th most powerful woman in the world by Forbes in 2014, and she was listed as the second most influential woman by Fortune in 2015. The Indian Institute of Management in Calcutta awarded Nooyi a Post Graduate Course Certificate in 1976.
IIM Calcutta Alumni Association Mumbai :
IIM Calcutta Alumni Association was established as an official association to represent our alumni in Mumbai, but it has also represented their interests in Western India. The association was established in 2009 and is listed as a charity with the Mumbai Charity Commissioner. The association will keep the alumni informed about the many activities scheduled for the year and the upcoming years when they give their most recent contact information. Life members receive all the standard rights of members in exchange for a small one-time fee of INR 1,000. For example, membership in the Association entitles them to vote for candidates running for office in the association, the ability to run for elected posts in the chapter, special access to certain important events, selected updates from alma mater, etc.

It is not possible to determine a candidate's admission in IIM Calcutta MBA course through CAT score alone. In Stage 1, a score 85% in CAT will be enough for a general category candidate to be selected for PI+WAT admission stage.
Final admission cutoffs are based on many factors other than CAT score.
